A wind turbine blade includes: an aerodynamic shell body with a suction side shell part and a pressure side shell part that extends in a longitudinal direction between a root and a tip and in a transverse direction between a leading edge and a trailing edge, and a de-icing system. The de-icing system includes: a number of heating layers each having electrically conductive fibres extending substantially in the longitudinal direction of the wind turbine blade along a longitudinal section of the aerodynamic shell body to provide resistive heating to the longitudinal section of the aerodynamic shell body; a number of metallic patches including a first metallic patch, the number of metallic patches being arranged to contact at least the number of heating layers; and a conductor cable that is electrically connected to the number of metallic patches and further is configured for electrically connecting to a power source.

Wind turbine blade having a de-icing system

The present invention relates to a measuring device for characterising a shape of a surface of an item, such as a wind turbine blade fibre layup, wherein the measuring device comprises: a frame comprising a holding frame, a first set of two or more probes movably held in the holding frame, each probe having a respective probe end for contacting the surface of the item, and electronic sensing means configured to provide for each probe a respective electrical signal representative of a position of the probe relative to the holding frame. A method for calibrating such a device is provided. Further, a method for characterising a shape of a surface of an item is provided.

A serrated panel () for a wind turbine blade is disclosed. The panel () is configured to be attached to the trailing edge of a blade to form a plurality of serrations () at the trailing edge of the blade. The serrated panel comprises a base part () for attaching the panel () to the trailing edge of the blade. An exterior surface () of the base part comprises a corrugated surface in direction between longitudinal ends of the panel such that the exterior surface comprises crests () aligned substantially with midpoints of bases () of the serrations () and valleys () aligned substantially between serrations ().

A wind turbine blade bushing system for arrangement in a root end of a wind turbine blade is described. The wind turbine blade bushing system comprises a threaded element for retaining a mounting bolt for a wind turbine blade, the threaded element being formed from a first material; and an anchor element for arrangement at the root end of the wind turbine, wherein the anchor element acts to at least partly retain the threaded element in the wind turbine blade, the anchor element being formed from a second material. The first material has a higher strength and higher fracture toughness than the second material.

Wind turbine blade bushing system

A wind turbine blade having a surface mounted device attached thereto via at least a first attachment part, which is connected to a part of the device. The first attachment part comprises an outer attachment part providing a first bonding connection between the device and the surface of the blade, wherein the first bonding connection is an elastic bond, and an inner attachment part providing a second bonding connection between the device and the surface of the blade, wherein the second bonding connection has a structural bond. The structural bond prevents the surface mounted device from creeping and the elastic bond region relieves stresses on the bond line, such as peel stresses, whereby the surface mounted device is less likely to be ripped off the surface of the blade due to forces affecting the device or the blade.

A wind turbine blade having a transition between two reinforcement fiber types is described. A gradual transition is provided by a combined double-tapered thickness section with a first type of reinforcement fibers sandwiched between a second type of reinforcement fibers or vice versa. The double-tapering is provided during layup and the reinforcement material is impregnated with a polymer resin and then cured or hardened so that the two types of reinforcement fibers are embedded in a common polymer matrix.

Wind turbine blade with improved fibre transition

A blade element () for mounting on a wind turbine blade () is provided. The blade () has a longitudinal direction (L) and a chord extending transversely to the longitudinal direction between a leading edge () and a trailing edge (). The changed airfoil profile is a truncated profile of an imaginary airfoil profile () with an essentially pointed trailing edge and a second chord length (c; c; c), which is larger than the first chord length (c; c; c).

Wind turbine blade and blade element combination and method of changing the aerodynamic profile of a wind turbine blade

The invention relates to a method of monitoring the operation of a wind energy plant, wherein the operation comprises collection of blade-related operational data. Novel aspects of the method according to the invention comprises that, in predefined points on the blade, position indicators are arranged that can be used in a positioning system for identifying the position of the position indicators; and that the positions of the position indicators and hence the position of the predefined points are determined and collected as a part of said blade-related operational data.

Monitoring the operation of a wind energy plant

An embedding element () for embedment in the root of a wind turbine rotor blade () of a fibre composite material, said embedding element being elongated and having a first end portion () and a second end portion () and provided with fastening means, eg a threaded hole, a threaded rod or the like in its first end portion (). Between its two end portions () the embedding element () is provided with a first longitudinal lateral face () extending substantially concavely in a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the embedding element, and with a second longitudinal lateral face () facing opposite the first lateral face () and extending substantially correspondingly convexly in a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The invention further relates to a method of producing such an embedding element, a method of producing a wind turbine blade () of fibre composite material, a plurality of embedding elements () being embedded such in juxtaposition in the blade root that they follow the circumference of the root and the concave lateral face () of each embedding element () engaging the convex lateral face () of a juxtaposed embedding element and allowing access to the fastening means () from the outside.
