Embodiments described herein generally relate to methods and systems for configuring settings of a cell expansion system including a bioreactor. Through a user interface, a user may configure display settings, system settings, and settings associated with protocols for loading, growing and/or harvesting cells. In configuring settings for protocols and associated processes, a diagram view or window of the cell expansion system is displayed in embodiments. The diagram view displays the process settings as graphical user interface elements. Settings available for configuration are enabled for selection in the diagram view. The diagram view allows the user to visualize the settings available for task configuration and to configure enabled settings. Configured settings are stored and capable of retrieval for subsequent execution or modification of the applicable protocol.

Configurable methods and systems of growing and harvesting cells in a hollow fiber bioreactor system

Embodiments described herein generally relate to methods and systems for customizing protocols for use with a cell expansion system. Through a user interface, a user may create a custom task for loading, growing and/or harvesting cells. A custom task may comprise one or more steps, in which a user may add or omit steps, as desired. Data may be entered for settings associated with a custom task, in which embodiments provide for such data to be entered each time the custom task is performed. In another embodiment, the settings for a custom task may be configured, in which such settings may be stored and retrieved upon selection of the custom task. Customization and configuration of a custom task may occur using a diagram view of the cell expansion system, in which process settings are associated with graphical user interface elements.

Customizable methods and systems of growing and harvesting cells in a hollow fiber bioreactor system

Embodiments described herein generally relate to methods and systems for using an air removal chamber as a control for a process in a cell expansion system. The air removal chamber may be mounted on a fluid conveyance assembly for use with the system. Fluid is pumped into a fluid containment chamber of the air removal chamber, in which the level of fluid in the fluid containment chamber may be monitored through the use of one or more sensors. The sensors are capable of detecting air, a lack of fluid, fluid, and/or a gas/fluid interface, e.g., an air/fluid interface, at measuring positions within the air removal chamber. Protocols for use with the system may include one or more stop conditions. In an embodiment, the stopping of a process is automated based on the detection of air, a lack of fluid, and/or a gas/fluid interface in the air removal chamber.

Methods and systems of growing and harvesting cells in a hollow fiber bioreactor system with control conditions

The present disclosure is generally directed to maintaining sensor quality standards and/or preventing improper remanufacture of sensors, such as pulse oximetry sensors. Present embodiments may include a system for facilitating the monitoring of physiologic conditions that includes an optical reader configured to translate an optical machine-readable representation of data associated with a patient into electronic data, a memory device configured to receive and store the electronic data after an initial reading of the machine-readable representation of data by the optical reader, and a processor configured to associate the electronic data with historical data obtained from the patient and limit access to the historical data based on whether the optical reader provides matching electronic data based on a subsequently read optical machine-readable representation of data when predefined conditions are met.

System and method for linking patient data to a patient and providing sensor quality assurance

A multisystem sensor is disclosed that includes a first sensor subsystem and a second sensor subsystem. The multisystem sensor includes a sensor body having both sensor subsystems. The first sensor subsystem may monitor a first physiological characteristic and the second sensor subsystem may monitor a second physiological characteristic. The sensor body may include an isolating portion configured to isolate the first sensor subsystem and the second sensor subsystem. The sensor body and/or isolating portion may include refractive components and/or filters to prevent interference between sensor subsystems.

The present disclosure relates to sensors for use on a patient's ear. The sensors as provided may be Y-shaped and configured to be retained on an ear with the forks of the Y-shape positioned below the main branch of the Y. In particular embodiments, the Y-shaped sensors may be affixed to the patient at locations on the head or neck to relieve strain and reduce the effects of motion on the optical components of the sensor.

A patient monitoring system is provided which includes a platform and one or more monitoring modules. Monitoring modules include parameter modules for monitoring physiological activity of a patient, and utility modules for providing additional functionality to the patient monitoring system. A platform and one or more monitoring modules may be coupled to form a communications bus, allowing communication between any of the plurality of coupled devices. Updates such as software upgrades may be provided by a monitoring module to a platform or other monitoring module to update functionality.

The present disclosure relates to sensors for use on a patient's ear. The sensors as provided may include a moldable member, such as a putty. The moldable member may be molded in place to affix the optical components of the sensor to a patient's ear tissue. For example, the moldable member may be sculpted around a curvature of a patient's earlobe. In particular embodiments, the moldable member may be activated, e.g., hardened, by exposure to particular temperatures or by exposure to light.
