Methods, apparatus, and systems are disclosed for census and panel matching using Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) headers. An example apparatus includes memory, instructions in the apparatus, and processor circuitry to execute the instructions transmit a first session identifier in an HTTPS header property of a network message to a proxy server, the proxy server to parse the first session identifier from the HTTPS header property, and transmit a second session identifier in the HTTPS header property when the second session identifier is different from the first session identifier, wherein the first session identifier or the second session identifier is transmitted to a monitoring entity, the monitoring entity associating the first session identifier or the second session identifier with at least a panel identifier.

Methods and apparatus for census and panel matching using HTTP headers

Examples disclosed herein include means for comparing bandwidth usage of an application executing in a background of a device to a threshold to determine a state of the application as one of active or inactive, means for logging event records associated with the application, and means for crediting a duration of background execution of the application. In disclosed examples, the means for crediting is to determine whether the bandwidth usage pattern is spiked or continuous based on a first event record representative of background execution of the application being started, update a second event record to be representative of the background execution of the application being stopped when the bandwidth usage pattern is spiked and a timestamp of the second event record exceeds a temporal activity window, and determine the duration of the background execution of the application based on the first event record and the second event record.

An example apparatus includes means for detecting that an application is to be uninstalled from the mobile device. Methods, apparatus and computer readable storage medium are disclosed to monitor media exposure. Examples disclosed herein compare bandwidth usage of a first media presentation application executing in a background of a consumer device to a first threshold for bandwidth activity to determine if the first media presentation application is one of active or inactive, the first threshold based on a first bandwidth usage pattern of the first media presentation application. Examples disclosed herein determine a state of a second media presentation application executing in a foreground of the consumer device during the first time period as one of active or inactive based on whether a special event associated with the second media presentation application is detected. Examples disclosed herein log and report application event information including an identification of the first and second media presentation applications, a context of the first and second media presentation applications, and the state of the first and second media presentation applications.

Example methods and apparatus to detect uninstallation of an on-device meter are disclosed. An example method includes detecting, at a second process on a mobile device, a first notification that an on-device meter process is to be uninstalled, the first notification broadcast within the mobile device in response to a user instruction to uninstall the on-device meter process. The on-device meter process is to monitor usage of the mobile device. The first notification is not communicated external to the mobile device. In response to the identification of the first notification, monitoring information stored by the on-device meter process is transmitted to a remote data collector. The monitoring information not transmitted to the remote data collector by the on-device meter process. An uninstallation notification is transmitted to the remote data collector, and includes an identifier to identify at least one of the mobile device or a user of the mobile device.

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed which credit background applications. Examples disclosed herein set a threshold for bandwidth activity based on the bandwidth pattern. Examples disclosed herein compare a bandwidth usage of the application executing in the background to the threshold for bandwidth activity. Examples disclosed herein determine a state of the application executing in the background as one of active or inactive based on the comparing, and generate a log file comprising an identification of the application, a timestamp, and the state of the application.

Example methods and apparatus to detect uninstallation of an on-device meter are disclosed.
