A nozzle assembly for a liquid dispenser includes an outlet member that defines a liquid supply conduit and a nozzle that includes an exit orifice, wherein the nozzle is disposed over an end of the outlet member. A liquid compression path is defined by the nozzle and the outlet member, wherein the liquid compression path includes a liquid compression chamber that supplies liquid from the liquid supply conduit to the exit orifice. The nozzle is adjustable between a first spray position for projecting a liquid spray having a first average droplet size and a second spray position for projecting a liquid spray having a first average droplet size. In the first spray position the liquid compression chamber has a first volume and in the second spray position the liquid compression chamber has a second volume. Preferably, the liquid spray is formed without a swirl chamber.

Nozzle assembly for liquid dispenser

A protective sealant composition that is useful for sealing a colorant to a substrate, such as carpet. The protective sealant composition is formulated such that, upon drying, the composition forms a topcoat on the surface of the substrate, with the topcoat having a hard component and a soft component. The composition provides a durable protection against color fading and resoiling to the applied colorant, as well as to the rest of the surface of the substrate. The composition also provides wear resistance to the carpet by reducing the amount that the widths of the top ends of carpet fibers increase when subjected to wearing.

The composition seals and protects a portion of a polyester carpet to which a colorant is applied such that, after the polyester carpet is walked on by 30,000 steps and vacuumed by 600 strokes, the &#x394;E(l:c=2:1) of the portion of the polyester carpet to which the colorant is applied is less than about 6.0. The &#x394;Cof the portion of the polyester carpet to which the colorant is applied is less than about &#x2212;3.0 D. The composition imparts wear resistance to a nylon carpet such that an average width of free ends of carpet fibers that form the nylon carpet increases by less than about 10% when the nylon carpet is subjected to a simulated wear test that includes contacting the carpet fibers to a steel beating bar, covered with nylon, in a drum rotating at thirty-five rotations/minute for seventy-two hours.

A method and composition for deodorizing soft surfaces such as carpeting and upholstery are disclosed. The method includes the spraying of a liquid composition on a soft surface and allowing the composition to absorb into the soft surface, form liquid agglomerations within the soft surface to the agglomerations can make contact with malodorants disposed within the soft surface. The composition is capable of penetrating rapidly and deeply into the soft surfaces for contacting odor-causing substances embedded therein. The composition comprises an active ingredient such as a glycol or triethanolamine. Other ingredients that contribute to the surface penetration and/or agglomeration formation include ethanol, water, fragrance and a combination of at least one nonionic and at least one ionic surfactant.

The method includes the spraying of a liquid composition on a soft surface and allowing the composition to absorb into the soft surface, form liquid agglomerations within the soft surface to the agglomerations can make contact with malodorants disposed within the soft surface. The composition comprises an active ingredient that is a liquid at room temperature with a vapor pressure of less than 0.0035 mmHg at room temperature. For example, the active ingredient can be triethylene glycol. Other ingredients that contribute to agglomeration formation include ethanol, water, fragrance and a combination of at least one nonionic and at least one ionic surfactant.

An aerosol dispenser assembly () has a container () holding a liquid product and a liquefied gas propellant for propelling the liquid product from the container, the propellant being present in a quantity of at most about 25% by weight of the contents of the container ().
