Systems and methods for identifying potential bullying are disclosed. In various aspects, a system for identifying potential bullying includes a sound detector configured to provide samples of sounds over time, a processor, and a memory storing instructions. The instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the system to determine that a noise event has occurred by processing the samples to determine that the sounds exceed a sound level threshold over a time period that exceeds a time period threshold, process the samples to provide frequency spectrum information of the noise event, determine whether the noise event is a potential bullying occurrence based on comparing the frequency spectrum information of the noise event and at least one frequency spectrum profile, and initiate a bullying notification in a case of determining that the noise event is a potential bullying occurrence.

Systems and methods for improved accuracy of bullying or altercation detection or identification of excessive machine noise

A method of detecting a substance includes, for each position of a plurality of positions in a field of view of an environment: emitting from a light source a light beam including a predetermined wavelength that is absorbable by a constituent of the substance, controlling at least one mirror to direct the emitted light beam to the position in the field of view, detecting by a detector light resulting from the emitted light beam, and determining whether the constituent of the substance is present at the position in the field of view based on characteristics of the detected light; generating a detection map indicating a presence or an absence of the substance at the plurality of positions in the field of view of the environment; capturing, by an image capture device, an image of the environment; and identifying a portion of the captured image having the substance based on the detection map.

Systems and methods for mapping absorption spectroscopy scans and video frames

Systems and sensors for detecting vaping or smoking are disclosed. A sensor system for identifying vaping and smoking at a site includes an air sensor located within a return vent of a ventilation system and configured to sense air quality of air conveyed through the return vent, a controller configured to identify vaping and smoking from the sensed air quality based on an air signature, and a network interface configured to communicate an alert indicating the vaping or smoking, when the vaping or smoking is identified.
