Method and system for securing an object

Embodiments include methods, systems and computer readable storage medium for a method for operating one or more doors of a vehicle is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by at least one radar sensor on the vehicle, input data related to one or more objects. The method further includes filtering, by the at least one radar sensor, vehicle environment noise from the received input. The method further includes identifying, by the at least one radar sensor, an external environment for the vehicle based on the filtered input. The method further includes operating, by a processor, one or more doors of the vehicle based on the external environment for the vehicle.

Self-learning, noise filtering of radar used for automotive applications

A vehicle cargo retaining apparatus and system having a first enclosure with an outer surface and an inner surface. The first enclosure is capable of containing a fluid within the first enclosure, such as to seal the fluid from an external atmosphere. The apparatus and system may further include a plurality of jamming members within the first enclosure and an opening in the enclosure for receiving or removing fluid. In one state, the plurality of jamming members are moveable relative to one another within the first enclosure when fluid is received via the opening allowing the outer surface of the first enclosure to be deformable. In a second state the plurality of jamming members are restricted from moving relative to one another within the first enclosure when fluid is removed via the opening causing the outer surface of the first enclosure to maintain a semi-rigid or rigid state. A control system may control operation of the system to enable the retaining operations.

Adaptable vehicle cargo system

A vehicle head up display system includes a transparent window assembly and an ultraviolet or infrared light source. The light source is used to irradiate transparent photovoltaic converters in the window assembly so that the photovoltaic converters produce an electric current. The electric current is transmitted to electrochromic pixels in the window assembly and actuates the electrochromic pixels in the window assembly to switch between having a transparent appearance and having an opaque appearance. Visual contrast between transparent pixels and opaque pixels provide indicia on the window assembly. The indicia can be removed from the window assembly by actuating the opaque pixels to have the transparent appearance by a subsequent application of electric current exceeding the threshold voltage. An electronic control unit can be including in the system for controlling operation of the light source.

A transformable wheel and method of transforming a wheel between open and closed positions. An exemplary transformable wheel may include a plurality of wheel segments (legs), including at least one passive leg and at least one active leg. The active leg(s) is actuated by a powered active leg transformation mechanism, while the passive leg(s) is actuated by a passive leg actuation mechanism that employs an elastic element, spring, or other passive actuator to automatically move the passive leg(s) toward the current position of the active leg(s).
