A laser beam machining device having a laser beam source and an equipment for deflecting a laser beam of the laser beam source for machining a workpiece is provided. The equipment includes a mounting body, a structural member having a reflecting surface, a flexible element by which the structural member is deflectable around an arbitrary space axis about an angle of deflection, a first forcing component and at least one second forcing component, whereby at least one of the forcing components are controllable such that the two forcing components are attracted towards each other or repel each other depending on the triggering. One of the forcing components is coupled to the structural member and the two forcing components are arranged and cooperate such that the structural member deflects around the arbitrary space axis about a predetermine angle of deflection.

Laser machining device

A device for moving a nonlinear crystal or a saturable absorber in two dimensions includes a first and a second piezo unit, each having a corresponding carrier, piezo driver, and carriage moveable by the piezo driver at incremental steps along a linear path with respect to the carrier between a first and a second end location, in which the linear paths of the first piezo unit and the second piezo unit are orthogonal. The nonlinear crystal/saturable absorber is fastenable on the carriage of the first piezo unit and the carrier of the first piezo unit is fastened on the carriage of the second piezo unit. The device further includes stops that define the carriage end locations, an end location detection configured to detect the carriages at their respective end locations, and a counting unit configured to count the steps covered during the moving of the carriage.

Moving a nonlinear crystal or a saturable absorber in two dimensions

The invention relates to a laser resonator for generating frequency-converted laser radiation, comprising a laser-active solid-state medium and a wavelength conversion crystal. A transmissive optical element having a concavely curved surface for generating collimated laser radiation is arranged in the laser resonator.

A system includes: a first nonlinear crystal arranged to receive to a first laser beam having a first wavelength &#x3bb;and operable to generate, by frequency doubling of the first laser beam, a second laser beam having a second wavelength &#x3bb;, in which the second beam propagates collinearly with the first beam; a second nonlinear crystal arranged to receive the first and second laser beams from the first crystal, in which the second crystal is operable to generate, by frequency mixing of the first and second laser beams, a third laser beam having a third wavelength &#x3bb;; and one or more lenses between the first and second crystals, in which the one or more lenses are operable to spatially separate the first and second beams. The first and second laser beams propagate at an offset and/or titled with respect to an optical axis in order to cause the spatial separation.

Frequency conversion of laser radiation

A gas-cooled laser device includes heat dissipative components, and housing walls made of a heat conducting material, in which one or more of the housing walls are provided with ventilation channels. At least one heat dissipative component is mounted on a plate of a heat conducting material, and the heat conducting plate is connected in a thermally conducting manner with the at least one housing wall that is provided with ventilation channels. The heat dissipative components can include heat dissipative optical components and heat dissipative non-optical components that are respectively arranged on different sides of the plate or are respectively arranged in different compartments on one side of the plate.

Gas-cooled laser device

An electro-optical hybrid connection assembly provides an optical connection of at least a first optical fiber and a second optical fiber that define a fiber axis and an electrical connection of at least a first electrical conductor and a second electrical conductor. The assembly includes a first connector and a second connector. The first connector includes a first ferrule that encloses the first optical fiber, a centering sleeve surrounding the first ferrule and projecting beyond at least one end of the first ferrule, and at least one electrical plug-in contact connected to the first electrical conductor. The second connector includes a second ferrule enclosing the second optical fiber, and at least one electrical plug-in contact connected to the second electrical conductor. Each of the two optical fibers has a plane fiber end aligned at right angles to the fiber axis and provided with an anti-reflection coating.
