An apparatus for supplying DC power to a field device, such as a motor, starter or actuator, includes a multi-pole main switch and a DC voltage supply device, both of which are connected at their respective AC-voltage input sides to a line voltage via a line protection. The DC-voltage side of the DC voltage supply device is connected via a two-pole switch to respective lines of the same power cable that connects output terminals of the apparatus to the field device. The multi-pole main switch and the two-pole switch are ganged. This approach eliminates a separate DC power cable between the apparatus and the field device.

Power supply apparatus for field devices

The invention relates to a power module comprising a substrate (), whose surfaces are provided with at least one electrically conductive layer (), at least one active semiconductor chip (), which is electrically connected to an electrically conductive layer (), a film () consisting of an electrically conductive material, which is in close contact with the surfaces of the semiconductor chips () of the electrically conductive layer () and the substrate () and is provided with planar printed conductors (). According to the invention: the module is equipped with a second film (), which is in close contact with the surfaces of the printed conductors () and the first film (); a passive semiconductor chip () is applied to said second film (), above the active semiconductor chip () and is electrically connected to the planar printed conductor () lying below by means of a window () that is configured in the second film (); the module is equipped with a third film (), which is in close contact with the surfaces of the passive semiconductor chip () and the second film () and said third film () is provided with a planar printed conductor (), which is conductively connected to the conductive layer () lying below the active semiconductor chip (). The invention thus provides a compact power module that can comprise complex topologies.

Power module

An electronic power circuit includes at least one power semiconductor whose control inputs are connected to a trigger device and a power supply which, on the output side, is connected to terminals of the trigger device and, on the input side, is connected to an accessory device to which a supply voltage is applied. The power semiconductor is implemented as a self-conducting power semiconductor, which economically reduces the forward power losses and switching losses of an electronic power circuit.

Electronic power circuit

In a method and device for monitoring speed, in particular for monitoring the rotation speed of an electric machine, two processors are employed which monitor the speed using different checking modes and cross-compare results. The first processor executes a conventional control algorithm and checks on the basis of an estimated or measured value of the speed whether a speed limit has been exceeded. The second processor determines the actual output frequency, which is also indicative of the speed, of a converter either from actual current values, which are measured anyway, or by reconstructing the voltage from control signals of transistors. Both processors thus monitor if a rotation speed limit has been exceeded and/or execute corresponding response actions. The method also recognizes faults in the power section based on the evaluation of the phase current. The system can also be designed to manage pulling loads.
