An exhaust system for the aftertreatment of exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, having an annular catalytic converter which is flowed through by exhaust gas, wherein the annular catalytic converter has an inflow point and an outflow point and the annular catalytic converter has a tubular first flow path and an annular second flow path which are oriented concentrically with respect to one another and which are flowed through in series, wherein the first flow path is surrounded to the outside in a radial direction by the second flow path, wherein a pipe is led in the radial direction from the outside through the second flow path, wherein the pipe opens into the annular catalytic converter and the pipe has a radial extent at least as far as into the inner first flow path.

The honeycomb structure is formed with a partially structured layer and a smooth layer the smooth layer provides that, in at least one axial portion of the honeycomb structure, a first cell density in an inner radial zone is increased in relation to a second cell density in an outer radial zone.

A device for exhaust-gas treatment near an engine includes an annular structure and a guide structure disposed in an exhaust line. An inner wall forms an inner flow passage and an outer flow passage in the annular structure. The inner wall and the guide structure form a gap in such a way that only a limited secondary flow of the exhaust gas is conducted through the inner flow passage. A motor vehicle having the device is also provided.

An exhaust gas treatment device includes an exhaust gas treatment component for conducting a flow in a flow direction from an inflow side to an outflow side. A metering device for metering reducing agent into the exhaust gas treatment device is disposed downstream of the outflow side in the flow direction. The metering device has a metering direction which runs at least partially counter to the flow direction. The outflow side of the exhaust-gas treatment component is spanned at least partially by a porous layer and there is a spacing between the metering device and the exhaust-gas treatment component selected in such a way that injected reducing agent reaches the porous layer. A motor vehicle having the device is also provided.

At least the temperature of the at least one heating apparatus or of the exhaust gas is subsequently monitored. An increase in the hydrocarbon fraction of the exhaust gas is initiated if at least the temperature of the heating apparatus or of the exhaust gas has reached a threshold temperature or a low-load phase of the internal combustion engine is present. In such an exhaust system the measurement sensor determines at least one characteristic variable of the exhaust gas in two or more different exhaust lines, so that the outlay required to monitor the at least one characteristic variable in a plurality of exhaust lines can be significantly reduced compared to if a measurement sensor is formed in each exhaust line.

A support assembly includes a deformation element for use in a motor vehicle for absorbing kinetic energy in case of an impact. The deformation element can be deformed to a residual block length. The deformation element is connected to a supporting structure and includes a honeycomb matrix body. The honeycomb matrix body of the deformation element is self-supporting and has at least one radial deformation limiter whose axial stiffness is lower than that of the matrix body. This allows using the deformation element without a supporting jacket, so that the properties of the deformation element can be determined independently of those of a jacket.

The foils form a foil assembly structure in which mutually adjacent respective foils are securely interconnected at connecting locations that are spaced apart from one another and offset alternatingly relative to one another. If the foil assembly is stretched, for example by winding the same into a hollow body, the honeycomb structure is formed, defining flow channels with at least one radial directional component in its interior, through the use of cells. A foil assembly structure which is also provided is suitable for use as a catalytic converter, in particular for small engines, by virtue of the fact that the foil assembly structure, which forms an initially essentially flat flexible honeycomb structure during stretching, can be wound into virtually any cross-sectional form of a hollow body and consequently can be adapted to existing exhaust pipe casing configurations. A method for manufacturing a metallic catalyst carrier body is also provided.
