An illumination apparatus for a motor vehicle, the illumination apparatus having a printed circuit board having a plurality of light-emitting diodes arranged thereon. An optical lens plate and a reflector element are provided with the reflector element being arranged between the printed circuit board and the optical lens plate. The reflector element has a plurality of segments into which the reflector element is divided, and each light-emitting diode is associated with a segment so that light emitted from the light-emitting diodes is reflected at the reflector element and passes through the optical lens plate.

A lighting device for vehicles includes a light source unit containing numerous light sources, and includes a hologram unit containing numerous hologram segments for generating a predefined light distribution. A lighting device for a motor vehicle includes numerous light sources and a collimator with numerous collimator lenses. Each collimator lens has an entry surface and an exit surface through which light from the light sources passes successively. Projection optics include a first and second transparent substrates, each with an entry surface and an exit surface. At least one array of cylindrical lenses are on the entry and/or exit surface of the first and second substrates. Light exiting the collimator first passes through the at least one array of cylindrical lenses on the first substrate and then through the at least one array of cylindrical lenses on the second substrate. The projection optics include a first array of cylindrical lenses on the first substrate, the cylinder axes of which extend in a first direction, which is horizontal when the lighting device is installed in a vehicle.

An illumination apparatus for a motor vehicle comprises: a light source, an optical waveguide with an incident surface and a reflective region; and a hologram arranged on or in the optical waveguide. The illumination apparatus is configured such that light emitted by the light source enters the incident surface of the optical waveguide in the direction of the reflective region, is reflected by the reflective region inside the optical waveguide in the direction of the hologram and interacts with the hologram. The average distance between the light source and the incident surface is at least half as great as the average distance between the reflective region and the hologram.

A lighting device for vehicles, in particular a signal light, with a light source for emitting a light beam and an optical unit associated with the light source for producing a predetermined light function, the optical unit having a holographic element and a lens arranged in the main emission direction in front of the holographic element, the holographic element comprising such a diffraction structure that the light beam emitted from the light source onto the holographic element is varied according to a predetermined illumination pattern such that the holographic light beam lights an illumination surface of the lens to generate the light function.

A reflector for vehicles includes a reflective surface that contains an optical element to reflect light incident on the optical element according to specific reflection characteristics. The reflective surface is designed as a hologram element which has a grating structure in such a way that light incident on the hologram element is reflected according to the specific reflection characteristics.

A lighting device for vehicles having a laser light source and an optical unit which is associated with the laser light source and which generates a predetermined light distribution. A diffusion element is arranged between the laser light source and the optical unit for reducing and/or preventing a speckle pattern in the light distribution.

An illumination device for vehicles, in particular rear light, with a light-emitting unit to generate a predetermined light function. The device comprises a plurality of light sources and an optical unit. The optical unit comprises a light guide with means for the deflection of the light coupled in the same, and a retroreflective unit to generate a retroreflective function. The light guide is designed as a low-profile light guide, which is arranged in the main radiation direction in front of the retroreflective unit. The means for deflecting the light are distributed on or in the low-profile light guide such that the first light beam emitted from the light source and coupled into a narrow side of the low-profile light guide is coupled out at a front flat side of the low-profile light guide to produce the predetermined light function. A second light beam coming from the outside passes the front flat side and a rear flat side of the low-profile light guide and is incident on the retroreflective unit and is reflected by it back through the rear flat side and the front flat side of the low-profile light guide in the main radiation direction to generate the retroreflective function.
