The embodiments may provide a system for managing survey data including a survey metadata handler configured to receive survey metadata for a survey type, and a survey result handler configured to receive one or more completed or partially completed surveys providing one or more answers to questions corresponding to the survey type, a calculating unit configured to calculate one or more weighted answers based on the question weights and the one or more answers, and a satisfaction score for each completed or partially completed survey based on the one or more weighted answers, a category determining unit configured to determine a satisfaction category for the survey type based on the satisfaction scores and satisfaction category information mapping satisfaction categories to satisfaction scores for the survey type, and a database configured to store the survey metadata, the survey results, and the satisfaction category information, as a layered data model.

Collection and reporting of customer survey data

A method of aiding a user in using features of a software application comprises receiving from a user a selection of layout. The layout is to be used in creating an informational display for displaying results of a data repository query. At least one input field and an image are displayed to the user. The image is of a sample informational display that is based on the selected layout. The at least one input field is displayed in association with at least one feature shown in the displayed sample image. A user input is received via the input field. The user input is to be used in modifying the at least one feature in the new informational display. That least one input field may be displayed on top of the displayed sample image, in close proximity to the shown feature.

Aiding a user in using a software application

Searches in data repositories are facilitated by a control displayed in a computer user interface. The control is capable of presenting a plurality of search options that a user can select for execution. Each search option specifies both an associated predetermined query to be performed on a data repository and an associated predetermined visual configuration for displaying a result of the predetermined query. An input from the user is received that selects one of the plurality of search options presented by the computer user interface control. The predetermined data repository query associated with the selected search option is performed, and the result of the query is displayed using the associated predetermined visual configuration. Search options having identical predetermined queries may be associated with different visual configurations. Search options associated with the same visual configuration may have different predetermined queries. The queries may be defined by the user.
