The present invention relates to pigment granules which are distinguished by the fact that they are based on a support material, where the support material is coated with one or more flake-form effect pigments by means of an adhesion promoter. The pigment granules according to the invention are preferably used for the pigmentation of application media, in particular paints, plasters, lacquers, powder coatings and plastics, and in particular as scatter and effect granules, for example for the decoration of wallcoverings.

Pigments granules

Pigment granules including a support material which is coated with one or more flake-form effect pigments by means of an adhesion promoter. The effect pigments may be, for example, pearlescent pigments, interference pigments, metal-effect pigments, multilayered pigments having one or more transparent, semi-transparent or opaque layers, goniochromatic pigments, holographic pigments, coated BiOCL flakes, uncoated BiOCl flakes, and LCP pigments, and mixtures thereof. A process for the production of pigment granules includes mixing one or more flake-form effect pigments, a support material, at least one adhesion promoter, and optionally one or more additives simultaneously or successively with one another. The pigment granules may be used for the pigmenting of application media, in particular paints, plasters, coatings, powder coatings, plastics, and in particular as scatter and effect granules, for example for the decoration of wallcoverings. The pigment granules may additionally include one or more additives and assistants.

Pigment granules

Pigment granules comprise one or more flake-form effect pigments, polymer particles or polymer particle mixtures, adhesion promoters, antioxidants and optionally additives. A process for the preparation of pigment granules comprises mixing one or more flake-form effect pigments, one or more polymer particles, at least one adhesion promoter, at least one antioxidant and optionally one or more additives with one another simultaneously or successively. The pigment granules may be used for the pigmentation of powder coatings, plastics and for the preparation of masterbatches. The pigment granules may be employed as a mixture with plastic powders or as a mixture with plastic granules for use in masterbatch applications.

Described are encapsulated pigments having an outer water-soluble shell and a core containing organic and/or inorganic pigments and optionally solvents and/or conventional additives. The encapsulated pigments have very good dissolution rates in aqueous systems and are therefore particularly suitable for paints, coatings, printing inks, in papermaking and in cosmetic formulations.

The invention relates to a non-dusting homogeneous pigment preparation notable in that it comprises at least 40% by weight of one or more effect pigments, from 0.5 to 50% by weight of water and/or an organic solvent or solvent mixture and from 0.5 to 59.5% by weight of a styrene-modified polyacrylate resin having an acid number &#x3e;90 mg KOH/g, and to its use to produce dry preparations.

Pigment preparation

The invention relates to a non-dusting homogeneous pigment preparation notable in that it comprises at least 40% by weight of one or more effect pigments, from 0.5 to 50% by weight of water and/or an organic solvent or solvent mixture and from 0.5 to 59.5% by weight of a styrene-modified maleate resin having an acid number >90 mg KOH/g, and to its use in particular to produce dry preparations.

The invention relates to a non-dusting homogeneous pigment preparation which is notable in that it comprises at least 40% by weight of one or more effect pigments, from 0.5 to 60% by weight of an aldehyde resin and/or ketonic resin and from 0.1 to 10% by weight of a redispersant.

The invention relates to a non-dusting, homogeneous pigment preparation which is distinguished by the fact that it comprises at least 40% by weight of one or more effect pigments and 0.5-59.5% by weight of a modified colophony resin, based on the pigment preparation, and the use thereof, in particular for the production of dry preparations. The pigment preparation according to the invention and the dry preparations produced therefrom are particularly suitable for the pigmenting of paints, coatings, powder coatings, printing inks and plastics.

Pigment preparation with modified colophony resins

The invention relates to preparations of monodisperse spherical oxide particles in the form of free-flowing powders of agglomerates in which the particles are bonded to one another by a binder. With these preparations, the oxide particles can be homogeneously dispersed in polymer systems with particular ease.
