The present invention discloses a fuel tank for a motor vehicle, with a tank wall bounding a fuel tank interior, characterized by the following features: the fuel tank has a first fiber-reinforced stiffening structure and a second fiber-reinforced stiffening structure; the first stiffening structure is connected to an inner surface of the tank wall, said inner surface facing the fuel tank interior, and the second stiffening structure is connected to an outer surface of the tank wall, said outer surface facing away from the fuel tank interior; and the tank wall is arranged at least in sections in a sandwich-like manner between the first stiffening structure and the second stiffening structure such that the first stiffening structure and the second stiffening structure are arranged overlapping at least in sections.

The invention relates to a method for producing plastics containers from thermoplastics with inserts which, by exploiting the heat of plasticization, are connected during shaping of the plastics container by a material bond and/or interlocking connection to the container wall, wherein the method provides the use of at least one opening on the insert, which opening forms a melt duct or melt inlet and/or melt passage for plasticized or plastic material of the container wall, wherein the method is distinguished in that the opening is monitored as a reference opening by optical and/or sensory means during the production of the connection, wherein the degree of penetration of the opening with thermoplastic from the container wall is used as a measure of the quality of the connection.

The invention relates to a method for producing a container () from a thermoplastic, having at least one surround (), provided in the container wall (), for a container opening. The surround () comprises a structure behind which parts of the container wall () extend and/or which is penetrated by said parts. The method is carried out using a multi-part blow mold that has at least two mold parts, each having at least one cavity, wherein the surround is placed as an insert in the cavity () of the blow mold (). The invention relates to a method for the riveted fastening of an accessory to a plastics fuel tank (), the riveted fastening taking place at the time of the production of the tank by extrusion blow-molding of a split tubular preform or two web-like extruded preforms made of thermoplastic material by using a multi-part die after or during the molding of two complementary shells. The accessory () has been provided or is provided with at least one opening. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the riveted fastening takes place by means of at least one prefabricated rivet pin () made of thermoplastic material. The rivet pin has been obtained in a separate production process, for example by injection-molding.

The invention refers to a method for the production of hollow bodies from thermoplastic, in particular for the production of motor vehicle tanks, in which the plastic is shaped as an extruded preform in the still plastic state or as a semi-finished product into at least two shells with the aid of at least one molding die (), with the use of heat, and the subsequently cooled and then dimensionally stable shells are placed one on the other and joined together into an essentially closed hollow body. As molding die () is used at least one positive die which has essentially the contour of the shells. The shells are shaped by the plastic being laid against the positive die. The apparatus for carrying out the method is also disclosed.
