A device () for moving a book () with a clamping device () moved by a first drive () and having two clamping jaws () that can be displaced in a parallel to open and close the clamping device, with a gear mechanism () on the moving clamping device () that converts a rotative movement into a linear adjusting movement for the clamping jaw () which can be displaced in parallel, with a controllable second drive () that is arranged stationarily, and with a permanent driving connection () between the second drive () and the gear mechanism (). The second drive () is not arranged on the moving system, such that the clamping device () can be realized in a lightweight construction. Pneumatic and electric connecting lines and signalling lines () for the second drive () can be permanently installed.

Device for moving a printed product

In order to realize a particularly compact binding-in machine (), the pressing devices () with the firmly assigned joint forming devices () can be driven along a circulation path that essentially lies in a vertical plane, wherein the pressing plates () of the pressing devices () are oriented parallel to this plane. The pressing devices () and the joint forming devices () are simply arranged on a rotor () that rotates about a horizontal axis (), wherein the axis of rotation () of the rotor is oriented perpendicular to the pressing plates (). This significantly simplifies the infeed and the delivery of the books ().

Binding-in machine

In a binding-in machine () for pressing in and joint forming books (), the invention proposes that the delivery device () features a book gripper () with a pair of opposite joint gripping rails () that take hold of the books () in the formed case joints () and the distance between which can be varied, wherein the formed and pressed-in books () can be removed from the pressing devices () with said book gripper. The books () are reliably separated from the pressing plates () due to the inwardly directed movement of the joint gripping rails and subsequently pulled out of the pressing devices (). The gripped removal makes it possible to realize a secondary forming or stabilizing of the formed case joints and to produce a glued connection between the case and the book block.

Binding-in machine with book delivery

The invention pertains to a binding-in machine () for pressing in and joint forming books () which comprises a multitude of pressing devices () and assigned joint forming devices (), as well as devices for feeding the books () and aligning the cased book blocks () relative to the cases () and for post-forming the rounded book blocks, wherein a forming rail () is provided that acts upon the fore edge cut () of the book block, and wherein the book is supported on the spine () and/or in the case joints (). The books are laterally taken hold of by means of a book gripper (or) that moves back and forward and transfers the vertically positioned books from an upstream transfer position (or) between the opened pressing plates () of a pressing device (), wherein the books are deposited on an alignment table () with their spine () in order to subsequently align and post-form the books () within the pressing device (). A pre-formed book is gently transferred into the pressing device such that its form is preserved.

Binding-in machine with book feed

The invention pertains to a book casing device with support plates of a circulation conveyor that transport the books astraddle in a vertical position and with a book delivery unit consisting of a stripping element that is arranged in the plane of motion of the support plates and features a through-opening for the support plates, wherein the downwardly moving books are supported on said stripping element in order to be released from the support plates, and with a delivery device for the subsequent lateral delivery of the books referred to the plane of motion of the support plates. In order to realize a reliable and gentle delivery of the books with high cycle rates, the invention proposes that the delivery unit comprises at least one means for continuously supporting a book while the book is transferred from the stripping position into a delivery position. The books are preferably transferred into their delivery position while being supported by the stripping element.

Casing-in machine with book delivery

A conveying device () for vertically transporting piece goods () with inner and outer conveying means () and several platforms () that are coupled to the conveying means. The piece goods are fed to the platforms horizontally in a receiving region (), the platforms lie horizontally while lifted in a lift region (), and the platforms deliver the piece goods horizontally at a delivery region to a delivery conveyor (). The conveying means are driven with a varying transport speed (F), such that the platforms pass through the deflecting region () between the lift and discharge regions with a slower transport speed (F) while the platforms move with a faster transport speed (F) before and after they pass through the deflecting region. The varying transport speed (F) preferably has a period (P) which corresponds to the same mutual distance (T) between the platforms.

Conveying device for vertically transporting piece goods

A binding-in and pressing machine () with a plurality of pressing stations () and heated joint forming rails situated on a reciprocating carriage (). An alignment station () is provided for aligning the book case joints () at the height of the joint forming rails (), including a height-adjustable alignment table () with rails () for supporting the book () on the outer edges of its spine and guide elements () for centering the book on the alignment table. A separate pre-forming station () is also provided that comprises the forming rail (), clamping plates (), and joint rails () that engage into the book case joints () and counteract a downward movement of at least the book case joints (). The books () aligned in the alignment station () are transferred into the pre-forming station () while being clamped in lateral regions near the joints. The effective times available for realizing a functionally safe alignment and a permanent pre-forming of the books are extended due to the assignment of the alignment and pre-forming functions to two separate stations.

Binding-in and pressing machine

A device for transporting printed products, particularly folded and/or unfolded sheets, comprising a conveying unit with several driven endless conveying belts that are arranged parallel to one another and a roller conveyor with several rollers that are respectively arranged between the endless conveying belts. The roller conveyor can be raised and lowered relative to the conveying unit and the vertical lifting movement of the roller conveyor is superimposed with a comparatively much larger movement parallel to the axial direction of the rollers. Such a lifting movement provides the advantage that the printed products are deposited onto the continuous endless conveying belts such that they are pre-accelerated in the transport direction or lifted off the conveying belts with the transport component in order to subsequently be gently decelerated up to the end of the lifting movement.

Device for transporting printed products

A method for transferring book blocks or the like into a transport device of a bookbinding machine. The book block is first clamped in a force-locking manner. At least one corner of the back edge or of the front edge of the book block is aligned with a position, which can be set in a predefined manner, by relative displacement of the two sides of the book block in the plane of the book block. The book block is then clamped in a force-locking manner by the transport device.
