A method and apparatus for vulcanizing pneumatic vehicle tires having heads that in the mounted state are disposed on the radially inner periphery of a rim. In order for such tires to achieve a satisfactorily contoured vulcanization, and in order at the same time to produce sealing surfaces with great precision, the tire is vulcanized with its beads in their operating position. During the vulcanization, the radially outwardly disposed surfaces of the tire beads are shaped with the aid of rigid, one-piece, shaped molding rings.

Method and apparatus for vulcanizing pneumatic vehicle tires

A vehicle wheel that includes a valve which has a check device, with the wheel being intended for use with a pneumatic tire that even when operating as a tire which is flat or has otherwise lost pressure permits great distances to be covered at a reduced speed. To prevent misuse of the tire, in other words reinflation of a tire subsequent to flat-tire operation and before the tire has been checked for leaks, the valve is provided with a mechanism that prevents such misuse. This mechanism is pneumatically disposed in series with the check device and is installed in an open position and in such a way that it changes over into a closed position upon commencement of a flat-tire operation, with a special tool and/or special replacement parts being required in order to reestablish the open position of the mechanism.

Vehicle wheel having valve means to prevent misuse

A pneumatic tire for a vehicular tire and wheel assembly that includes a rigid wheel rim, which is provided with essentially radially inwardly extending rim flanges, rim seating surfaces disposed on the radially inner side of the rim ring and inclined in the transverse direction, and a recessed mounting bed for each tire bead, and that also includes a pneumatic tire of elastomeric material, with bead seating surfaces of the tire beads being disposed adjacent to the rim flanges on the rim seating surfaces, and with the carcass of the tire being anchored in the beads by being looped about pressure-resistant bead cores. In order despite manufacturing-related tolerance differences of the rims and tires to obtain an improved bead seating, each bead is provided with recesses disposed therein in such a way that when the tire is mounted on the rim and inflated to the operating pressure, a base portion of the bead that rests against the rim seating surface exerts thereon a compression pressure in the range of from 8 to 56%.

Pneumatic tire for a vehicular tire and wheel assembly

An apparatus for vulcanizing pneumatic vehicle tires where the tire beads, in the mounted state, are disposed on the radially inner periphery of a rim next to the essentially radially inwardly extending rim flanges. In order to obtain tires having a long service life and tire beads with a good sealing quality, it is proposed that the tire be vulcanized in essentially the proper contour for operation. Two, respectively radially segmented, bead-forming rings that have a variable diameter and can be displaced axially are provided. For the purpose of vulcanizing the sealing surfaces disposed in the interior of the tire so that these surfaces will rest on the rim in an airtight manner, the bead-forming rings are introduced, in a radially retracted state, into the interior of the tire blank, whereby at least one of the tire beads is ovally deformed. The segments of the molding rings are subsequently extended to an annular radial diameter whereby the molding surface portions of the molding rings can be moved axially outwardly over the tire beads without deforming the latter.

Apparatus for vulcanizing pneumatic vehicle tires

A method of producing a pneumatic vehicle tire, the beads of which can be mounted on the radially inner periphery of a rim, and are pivotably relative to the bead cores. A carcass along with the adjacent rubber layers, and the tire beads, with their pull and compression resistant cores, are combined on a drum to form an essentially cylindrical blank. What will later be the insides of the tire initially face radially outwardly, and the interfaces of the initially radially outwardly extending beads form an essentially right angle with the cylindrical surface of the blank. At least the bead regions of the tire blank are preliminarily vulcanized, whereupon the blank is turned in and has imparted thereto a toroidal shape. The blank is then provided with a tread strip, and is final-vulcanized.

Method of producing a pneuamtic vehicle tire

A method and apparatus for vulcanizing pneumatic vehicle tires where the tire beads, in the mounted state, are disposed on the radially inner periphery of a rim next to the essentially radially inwardly extending rim flanges. In order to obtain tires having a long service life and tire beads with a good sealing quality, it is proposed that the tire be vulcanized in essentially the proper contour for operation. Two, respectively radially segmented, bead-forming rings that have a variable diameter and can be displaced axially are provided. For the purpose of vulcanizing the sealing surfaces disposed in the interior of the tire so that these surfaces will rest on the rim in an airtight manner, the bead-forming rings are introduced, in a radially retracted state, into the interior of the tire blank, whereby at least one of the tire beads is ovally deformed. The segments of the molding rings are subsequenty extended to an annular radial diameter whereby the molding surface portions of the molding rings can be moved axially outwardly over the tire beads without deforming the latter. The molding rings are then moved axially outwardly over the tire beads and then retracted to their smallest diameter, and are locked into position, whereupon the tire blank is vulcanized in a mold.

Method for vulcanizing pneumatic vehicle tires

A method and apparatus for demounting a pneumatic vehicle tire, the beads of which, in the mounted state, are disposed on the radially inner periphery of a wheel rim having a deep mounting bed and, laterally outwardly therefrom, rim flanges which extend essentially radially inwardly. First, a portion of a given tire bead is forced into the deep mounting bed, and subsequently the oppositely located portion of the same tire bead is lifted over the rim flange.
