A higher throughput is an increasingly necessary requirement for driverless transport systems with a plurality of driverless transport vehicles. In arrangements with inclined roadways, resuming a movement is problematic in that doing so has hitherto only been possible with a limited arrangement of the roadways and/or with highly dimensioned drives. The novel method provides for moving a driverless transport vehicle on an inclined transport roadway, wherein the steering drives are actuated on the basis of the detected inclination direction in order to move the vehicle such that the transport vehicle is moved transversely to the inclination direction. After a specified minimum speed of the transport vehicle transversely to the inclination direction is reached, the steering drives are adjusted such that the transport vehicle continues to move in the inclination direction.

Method for moving a driverless transport vehicle on an inclined transport roadway

Driverless transport vehicles or DTVs, which are automatically guided vehicles, are gaining importance in the sorting of cargo. A method for loading a driverless transport vehicle with a cargo item in a transfer point, includes loading the DTV with the cargo item by using a known delivery system during the journey of the DTV. In order to prevent cargo items from falling during loading, a higher-level control sets the delivery speed of the cargo item and the speed of travel before the cargo item is transferred to the transport vehicle, such that the delivery speed component of the transport direction is equal to the speed of travel of the transport vehicle. In this way, the continued use of existing delivery systems such as are known under the term HSI (high speed induction) is possible. A system for loading a driverless transport vehicle is also provided.

A linear sorter sorts piece goods. The linear sorter contains a closed circulation of tracks having a plurality of cross-belt elements, in which the piece goods are transported on an upper run on the cross-belt elements and are sorted by unloading to corresponding destination points, and the cross-belt elements return on a lower run. The cross-belt elements are driven by linear motors. In order to simplify the maintenance and to have to keep fewer cross-belt elements available as replacement components, the linear motors for the cross-belt elements are controlled such that, as the cross-belt elements return on the lower run, the speed of the cross-belt elements is higher than the speed of the cross-belt elements while travelling on the upper run.

A conveying unit for transporting goods on transport rollers in a transport plane. The transport rollers can be rotated about their respective axes of rotation with an adjustable rotational speed and adjustable direction of rotation. The axes of rotation of the transport rollers are adjustable by rotation about their respective pivot axes by a particular pivot axis angle, and at least two of the transport rollers can be adjusted differently from one another. There is also described a method for adjusting the conveyor unit.

A transfer apparatus contains a conveying unit, a sorting unit, which is configured for receiving and sorting articles from the conveying unit, and a transfer unit with a feeding unit. The transfer unit forms a transporting connection between the conveying unit and the sorting unit. A discharging unit is positioned on a portion of the conveying unit and is configured to discharge an article onto the transfer unit only when the article is at a predefined minimum distance from a previously discharged article.

A conveying device for conveying piece goods in a conveying direction adjusts distances between the piece goods to be conveyed. The piece goods are subjected to individually determined accelerations in order to adjust the distances to a set or desired distance. Parcel processing systems and methods. A parcel processing system includes a parcel singulation transport configured to transport a stream of singulated parcels. The parcel processing system includes a parcel sorter configured to sort individual parcels in the stream of singulated parcels into a plurality of buffers. Multiple buffers comprise a set of buffers corresponding to a single load builder, and each buffer accumulates and buffers sorted parcels before transfer to the load builder. The parcel processing system includes a parcel flow merge configured to selectively receive buffered parcels from each of the buffers in the set and feed the received parcels to the load builder. The parcel processing system includes the load builder, configured to receive the parcels from the parcel flow merge and build successive stacks of parcels on a parcel pallet.

A sorting device and a method for sorting bulk material. In order to be able to load a sorting facility of the sorting device with just one feeding facility with bulk material such that the sorting facility can be operated with a high throughput, provision is made for the sorting facility and the feeding facility to be arranged so as to run in parallel with one another in a transfer area. In the transfer area, bulk material is transferred from the feeding facility to the sorting facility.
