Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) included in a first category of UEs may receive a configuration that configures a paging early indication (PEI) in a first initial downlink bandwidth part associated with the first category of UEs, and may monitor for a PEI in the first initial downlink bandwidth part based at least in part on the configuration. In some aspects, the UE may receive a configuration that configures a PEI in a second initial downlink bandwidth part associated with a second category of UEs, and may monitor for a PEI in the second initial downlink bandwidth part based at least in part on the configuration. Paging early indication for a user equipment

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an AMF may receive, from a user equipment (UE), a communication associated with a request for an identifier. The AMF may transmit, to the UE, the identifier, wherein the identifier is based at least in part on a synchronization signal block (SSB) periodicity and a number of paging frames per discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle. Aligning paging occasions and synchronization signal blocks

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for power savings for reduced capability devices. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a shared bandwidth part (BWP) configuration and a group common BWP configuration. The group common BWP configuration indicates a group common BWP shared by a group of UEs, including the UE, having one or more common capabilities or a common UE type. The method includes communicating using the group common BWP based on the group common BWP configuration.

Power savings for reduced capability devices

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communication system may support techniques for correlation-based hardware sequences for layered decoding. In some cases, a user equipment (UE) may partition layers of a submatrix associated with a parity check decoding procedure into a first set of layers and a second set of layers. The UE may sort each set of layers into a respective set of layer orders (e.g., a first set of layer orders and a second set of layer orders) based on an associated set of correlation values. The UE may combine the first set of layer orders and the second set of layer orders to obtain a set of combined layer orders and may select a decoding schedule from a set of decoding schedules used for decoding each of the combined layer orders based on respective schedule lengths for the set of decoding schedules.

Correlation-based hardware sequence for layered decoding

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for PEI location determination. According to certain aspects, a method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a network entity, a configuration of a paging early indication (PEI) that indicates, for multiple paging occasions (POs) in multiple paging frames (PFs), whether paging physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) are scheduled in the multiple POs, identifying a reference PF from one of the multiple PFs, and monitoring for the PEI in a location of a PEI occasion determined based on the reference PF and at least one timing offset.

Paging early indication location determination

The disclosure provides for reporting a channel quality indicator (CQI) in wireless communications. A user equipment (UE) may determine that a calculated CQI value to be reported in a current sub-frame is affected by a deterministic null scheduling on a downlink channel. The UE may determine a compensatory CQI value. The UE may report the lesser of the calculated CQI value and the compensatory CQI value in response to determining that the calculated CQI value is affected by the deterministic null scheduling. In an aspect, the deterministic null scheduling is associated with a compressed mode gap. The UE may determine whether the calculated CQI value is affected by the deterministic null scheduling by determining whether the current sub-frame is within a first time period before the start of the compressed mode gap or within a second time period after the end of the compressed mode gap.

Channel quality reporting for deterministic null scheduling

A processor for calculating a convolution of a first input sequence of numbers with a second input sequence of numbers to generate an output sequence is provided. The processor includes multipliers, each multiplying two real numbers to generate an output; multiplexers to direct the numbers in the first and second input sequences or parts of the numbers to the multipliers; and control circuitry to control the multiplexers to direct the first and second input sequences of numbers to the multipliers dependent on whether the numbers are complex or real. An accumulator adds partial products from multiplications performed by the multipliers to calculate the convolution.

Efficient FIR filters

A channel impulse response (CIR)/DC offset (DCO) joint estimation for a time division synchronous code division multiple access (TDSCDMA) system includes generating from a basic midamble and received midamble an initial estimation of the CIR as a series of CIR taps; storing the initially estimated CIR taps; calculating a DC compensated CIR from the initially estimated CIR taps; filtering out the noise from the DC compensated CIR to produce the CIR estimation; and calculating the DC offset estimation from the CIR estimation.

Channel impulse response (CIR)/DC offset (DCO) joint estimation block and method

A method includes receiving data in a first data processing module, and enabling a second data processing module when at least one signal time slot of the received data comprises data that complies with a first data transmission standard. The method also includes exchanging signals between the first data processing module and software executing in a processor, and determining that a software configuration of the second data processing module has been completed. The method also includes processing the data in the second data processing module for the at least one signal time slot, and enabling a third data processing module upon a completion of processing at least one data block in the second data processing module, and determining that a software configuration of the third data processing module has been completed, the at least one data block comprising multiple signal time slots.

Data flow control in wireless communication systems

A wireless receiver uses a joint detection Viterbi (JDV) algorithm to demodulate a signal that has a desired signal component and an interference signal component. The desired signal component includes a training sequence and at least one data field. The training sequence and a corresponding portion of the interference signal component is demodulated using the JDV algorithm to evaluate possible transmitted training sequences and interference signal sequences, and channel estimations for the desired signal component and the interference signal component are generated. The at least one data field is demodulated according to the JDV algorithm using the channel estimations as initial channel estimates for the JDV algorithm.

Receiver architecture

An apparatus for processing signals in a wireless system includes a first memory module to receive input data from a set of physical channels, a first plurality of sub-modules to process the input data. Each of the first plurality of sub-modules is selected to function based upon data and transmission channel specifications. The apparatus also includes a second memory module to receive processed input data and output intermediate data. Locations of the input data in the second memory is allocated in connection with data and transmission channel specifications. The apparatus also includes a second plurality of sub-modules to process the intermediate data. Each of the second plurality of sub-modules is selected to function based upon data and transmission channel specifications. The apparatus also includes a third memory module to receive and output bit rate processing output.

Multi-mode bit rate processor

A system includes a receiver for receiving a modulated signal. The receiver includes a gain estimator for converting complex data representative of constellation points of the modulated signal into scalar data representation. The gain estimator is configured to fold a first portion of the scalar data representation onto a second portion of the scalar data representation. The gain estimator is further configured to estimate a constellation gain value from the folded first portion and the second portion of the scalar data representation.
