According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for managing social interaction information. The method includes receiving first social interaction information associated with a user of a first over the top (OTT) service platform. The method also includes receiving second social interaction information associated with the user, the second social interaction information from a communications service platform distinct from the first OTT service platform. The method further includes generating, using the first social interaction information and the second social interaction information, consolidated social interaction information and providing the consolidated social interaction information to the user.

According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for affecting user associations in over the top (OTT) service platforms. The method includes receiving a first message for initiating associations or disassociations between a first user and a second user of over the top (OTT) service platforms. The method also includes determining, using at least one of information in the first message and stored information, the OTT service platforms in which associations are to be established or disestablished. Embodiments of methods and systems for peer-to-peer interconnection between service providers are presented. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, at a session controller, a request for access to a target communication device, the target communication device being communicatively coupled to a foreign service provider network. The method may also include referencing a list of available routes for peer-to-peer communication with the target communication device on the foreign service provider network from a database of available routes. Additionally, the method may include identifying, in a peer-to-peer interconnect controller, a path for communication with the target communication device in response to the list of available routes. In one embodiment, the method also includes establishing a peer-to-peer communication session from a peering point to the target communication device over the path.

According to one method, a first profile definition defining a first persona through which a user accesses at least one social networking, OTT, or other hosted service and at least one trigger condition associated with the activation of the first persona is accessed. The method further includes determining a context for the user. The method further includes determining whether the context for the user satisfies the at least one trigger condition. In response to determining that the context satisfies the at least one trigger condition, the first persona is activated.

Systems and methods for determining peer to peer communication paths between service providers are presented. In one embodiment the method is carried out in a peer-to-peer interconnect controller. The method may include obtaining default route information associated with a subscriber on a foreign service provider network in response to a request for route information, the default route information comprising identification of a peer access point designated for peer-to-peer interconnection. The method may also include generating a directed query for additional peer-to-peer interconnection routes in response to the default route information. Additionally, the method may include obtaining one or more candidate routes from the foreign service provider network in response to the directed query. In one embodiment, the method may also include selecting one of the candidate routes for establishing a peer-to-peer connection with the subscriber of the foreign service provider network.

Determining peer-to-peer communication paths between service providers

The present invention provides a solution to maximize the chance of completion for an ISUP to SIP direction call by enabling a bigger factor for converting ISUP hop counter to SIP Max-Forwards value than the reverse direction thus enabling more hops in the SIP network. Enabling a bigger factor for ISUP to SIP direction can cause loops without special considerations. This invention provides an algorithm that prevents a 'loop condition' that can arise at the interface boundary of two telephone networks, known by their standard names 1SUP and SIP networks. The present invention solves the 'loop condition' problem by adjusting the Hop Counter and Max-Forward parameter values in a predetermined manner such that the adjusted parameter values break the cycle of providing the same parameter values between networks at the network boundary for an uncompleted connection, or break an endless &#x201c;loop condition&#x201d;.

A method for creating and managing ad-hoc groups linked to an event and spanning multiple modes of communication includes creating an ad-hoc group associated with an event. Available modes of communication are determined for each participant in the group. For each mode of communication, first information for contacting each participant is determined. Second information that serves as an alias for each participant is determined. A consolidated view of the available modes of communication with each of the participants in the group is provided using the aliases.
