A thermoplastic composition based on polyamide and polyketone is described. The thermoplastic composition can have an excellent mechanical strength and dimensional stability. Further, the composition can include a novolac resin and a reinforcing or a bulking filler. The composition can be molded, for example in the form of granules or powder, which is used for manufacturing articles via an injection-molding process.

A phenolic compound for manufacturing a modified polyamide that has an increased degree of crystallinity is described. A polyamide composition comprising at least one such phenolic compound and optionally reinforcing fillers or extenders is also described. The composition is preferably a composition to be molded, for example in the form of granules or powder, that is used for the manufacture of articles by an injection-molding process.

The present invention relates to a novel process for the manufacture of nonwoven surfaces. It relates more particularly to a process for the manufacture of nonwoven surfaces by the process of direct melt spinning of continuous filaments arranged in the form of a sheet. This process employs a composition based on a thermoplastic polymer exhibiting an electrical conductivity sufficient to prevent the formation of electrostatic charges or to allow their removal during the spinning process.

The invention concerns an aqueous biocide system comprising: at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible biocidal agent, and at least a polyorganosiloxane with water-soluble or water-dispersible functions. The invention also concerns the use of the system for disinfecting hard surfaces, or a method for disinfecting hard surfaces using the system, with controlled release of the biocide when contacted with an aqueous medium of a hard surface whereon the aqueous medium has been deposited and dried.
