In one aspect, the teachings herein address the changing network capacity requirements that arise in electronic conferencing systems not hosted in a fully dedicated network using a clever prioritization scheme that is determined in view of which source streams () available in the electronic conference are being used by respective conference clients () and how they are being used by those clients (). Method and apparatus for prioritizing media within an electronic conference according to utilization settings at respective conference participants

An arrangement, and corresponding method, which arrangement is configured to recognize a conference participant--who is currently talking during a conference session The arrangement comprises an identifying unitincluding a biometric detectoradapted to capture at least one biometric characteristic of the participant--, and a comparison unitadapted to compare the biometric characteristic to stored biometric characteristics in a database, each stored characteristic being associated with an owner identity. The arrangement also comprises a display enableradapted to, when a match is found between the captured biometric characteristic of the participant--and a stored biometric characteristic in the&#x2014;database, enable display of the identity associated with the matching participant to other participants--in the conference session.

Meeting room participant recogniser

Arrangements in a device for use with a service involving play out of audio from a headset are provided. The arrangements include an application for providing the play out of audio to a user of the device. The application has at least two modes of operation including first and second active modes. In the first active mode, the headset is in full physical contact with the user. In the second active mode, the headset may not be in full physical contact with the user. The application is configured to switch between the first and second modes of operation based on whether the headset is detected to be in full physical contact with the user. In the first active mode, the user is entitled to full use and/or operation of the service. In the second active mode, the user is entitled to modified use and/or operation of the service. Related methods are also provided.
