A service provider server is provided for use with a network node, and a cable modem. The service provider server includes a memory and a processor configured to execute instructions stored on the memory to cause the service provider server to provide a first downstream service flow to the cable modem by way of the network node, the first downstream service flow having a first set of privileges, receive a first upstream service flow from the cable modem by way of the network node, provide a second downstream service flow to the cable modem by way of the network node, the second downstream service flow having a second set of privileges that are different from the first set of privileges, and receive a second upstream service flow from the cable modem by way of the network node.

The station may either respond with a message declining to provide a unique identifier or respond with a message including a unique identifier to be used by the access point for the station. The access point may enforce different policies against a station depending upon how the station responds to the unique identifier request.

Methods, systems, and computer readable media may be operable to facilitate an allocation of one or more channels to one or more preferred stations. An access point may be configured to allocate the use of one or more sub-bands of a frequency spectrum to one or more stations. One or more sub-bands may be assigned to one or more preferred stations, thereby creating a plurality of virtual networks provided by the access point. The virtual networks provided by the access point may support different authentication and encryption options. The access point may simultaneously communicate with a plurality of stations by simultaneously transmitting and/or receiving communications over the different sub-bands.

Allocation of wireless channels for preferred stations

A method implemented in a computer system for determining upstream transmission capability in an area of a hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) cable plant network, the area including network components, and customer premises equipment (CPE) devices. The method configures a downstream transmission that includes a marker channel, and initiates the downstream transmission to each CPE device. The method sends a query to each CPE device to request a status of the marker channel at the CPE device. The method receives a response to the query from at least one CPE device, and determines a status of each network component based on the response to the query from said at least one CPE device subtending from the network component.

Method for automatic tracking of hybrid fiber coaxial upstream service upgrades

Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate dynamic wireless coverage through adaptive use of a rectangular array of antenna elements. A rectangular array of elements may be adaptively utilized to create a customized transmission/reception pattern that is based upon wireless device placement, premise layout, and other characteristics associated with a subscriber premise within which an access point is located.
