Vibration dampening material and method of making same

The present invention is directed to a material adapted to reduce vibration and, more specifically, to a material adapted to dissipate and evenly distribute transmitted vibrations. The material is particularly suited for impact and/or heavy load vibration resistance.

Vibration dampening material and uses for same

A composite formed by a reinforced elastomer material that dissipates, isolates, and absorbs sound and vibrational energy waves.

Sound dissipating material

A material having a stretch axis and adapted to regulate energy by distributing and partially dissipating energy exerted thereon. The material includes a material body elongateable along the stretch axis from a first position to a second position, in which the material body is elongated by a predetermined amount relative to the first position. The material body includes a first elastomer layer defining a material length and a planar support structure disposed within the elastomer layer generally along the stretch axis in an at least partially non linear fashion while the material body is in the first position so that a length of the support structure, as measured along a surface thereof, is greater than the material length of the first elastomer layer.

An article of athletic clothing is provided with at least one sting reducing multilayer laminate pad. Preferably the laminate pad comprises an inner layer made of vibration damping material such as an elastomeric material and preferably silicone gel. The pad also includes a layer of force dissipating stiffening material as an intermediate layer located outwardly of the inner layer of vibration damping material. The pad also includes an outermost cover layer.

A vibration absorbing material preferably includes a first elastomeric layer of vibration absorbing material which is substantially free of voids therein. A second layer including a hight tensile fibrous material and that is disposed on the first elastomeric layer. The high tensile strength fibrous material distributes vibration to facilitate vibration dampening. A third elastomeric layer is disposed on the second elastomeric layer.

Vibration dampening material

A vibration absorbing material preferably includes a first elastomeric layer of vibration absorbing material which is substantially free of voids therein. A second elastomeric layer includes an aramid material therein and is disposed on the first elastomeric layer. The amramid material distributes vibration to facilitate vibration dampening. A third elastomeric layer is disposed on the second elastomeric layer.

A vibration absorbing grip including a grip body formed by a multi-layer material. The material preferably includes a first elastomeric layer of vibration absorbing material which is substantially free of voids therein. A second elastomeric layer which includes an aramid material therein and is disposed on the first elastomeric layer. The amramid material distributes vibration to facilitate vibration dampening. A third elastomeric layer is disposed on the second elastomeric layer and is adapted to be gripped by a user.

Vibration dampening grip

A tape adapted to absorb and/or regulate vibration preferably includes a multi-layer material that may include a first elastomeric layer of vibration absorbing material which is substantially free of voids therein. A second elastomeric layer includes an aramid material therein and is disposed on the first elastomeric layer. The amramid material distributes vibration to facilitate vibration dampening. A third elastomeric layer disposed on the second elastomeric layer.
