A method of compensating phase error of a received signal is disclosed. The signal comprises a symbol set comprising a plurality of symbols of a first type having an N-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation, N-QAM, signal configuration, where N is an integer larger than 4, and at least one symbol of a second type having an Amplitude and Phase-Shift Keying, A-PSK, signal configuration, wherein both the symbols of the first type and of the second type carries data and wherein the symbols of the second type also are arranged as pilot symbols for determination of phase rotation determination. A receiver and transmitter, as well as a communication system, employing the symbol set are disclosed.

A method which makes use of the syndrome information at each iteration, combined with the bit reliability information available at a FEC decoder, to extract the minimum estimated bit error configuration, i.e. the block which is closest to the transmitted codeword during the decoding process, and to select such block if the result at the final decoding iteration has a higher number of estimated bit errors.

A received signal level is controlled in a node used in a point to multi-point (PmP) radio-communication system having microwave time division multiple access (TDMA). Local node control is activated by an AGC in the receiving node, and simultaneously, a radio control loop is activated from the receiving node to each terminal regulating each terminal's transmitted power level. The receiving node AGC reconfigures quickly and is both accurate and stable.
