An ankle support assembly includes a body having a plurality of fabric layers. The body extends along a longitudinal axis. A sealed, inflatable chamber is supported by the body. A valve member is supported by the body and in fluid communication with the chamber. A plurality of retaining members are positioned relative to the chamber. The retaining members are spaced apart from each other. The retaining members are configured to limit expansion of the chamber in at least one direction. The retaining members are positioned relative to the chamber such that the body has a variable stiffness along the longitudinal axis when the chamber is inflated.

Soft actuator ankle support assembly

A device for traversing a conduit includes a body having a first member that is receivable within a second member. The first member is slidable relative to the second member. A first actuator is coupled to a first end of the body. A second actuator is coupled to a second end of the body. A third actuator is coupled to the body between the first actuator and the second actuator. The third actuator is also spaced apart from the first actuator and the second actuator. The device also includes a pneumatic system that is configured to change the pressure of the actuators.

Water pipe inspection robot and method of traversing a water pipe

An assisted lifting device includes an adjustable sleeve configured to be worn on an arm of a subject and an array of inflatable actuators connected to the adjustable sleeve. Each of the actuators defines an axis. The axes of the two outermost actuators in the array are each configured to be oriented perpendicular to the arm of the subject. The assisted lifting device also includes a retainer coupled to the sleeve and one of the outermost actuators to maintain the perpendicular orientation of the outermost actuator upon inflation of the plurality of actuators.
