A clamp for releasably engaging a cable chain employed on a C-arm X-ray imaging device includes a positioning member having a rear surface formed complementary to a portion of the C-arm imaging device, a pivot arm attached to the positioning member, a biasing member disposed on the pivot arm, and a clamp arm rotatably mounted to the pivot arm, wherein the biasing member is engaged between the positioning member and the clamp arm to move the clamp arm between a release position and a locking position. The clamp is engageable with the cable chain to hold the cable chain in alignment with the at least one of the housing and the C-arm, and is operable separately from the imaging device, such that the clamp can hold the cable chain on the housing or C-arm even when power is not provided to the imaging device.

A C-arm x-ray imaging device includes a base, a carriage operably connected to the base and having at least one axis of movement with respect to the base, a C-arm movably connected to the carriage, the C-arm including a cable management system having a housing disposed on the carriage, the housing defining an interior, a number of cables extending from the base into the interior of the housing, a cable chain having a first end secured within the interior of the housing and a second end affixed to the C-arm, the cable chain defining a channel therein that receives the number of cables to direct the number of cables from the base to the C-arm. The cable management system operate to retain the number of cables in alignment with the C-arm in any orientation of the C-arm relative to the base.

The present disclosure relates to a C-shaped arm for use with a medical imaging system. In accordance with certain embodiments, the C-shaped arm comprises a C-shaped portion, a radiation source carried by the C-shaped portion, and a radiation detector carried by the C-shaped portion, wherein at least a portion of the C-shaped portion is formed of a unidirectional ultra-high modulus carbon fiber material.

In the present invention, a control device for use in connection with a medical device or system in order to operate various functions of the medical device or system is provided that does not require a wired connection or internal power source for the operation of the control device. The control device in certain embodiments can take the form of a footpedal that is formed without electronics, without a printed circuit board (PCB), without a wireless module and without a battery. In this configuration the control device is formed to be entirely passive in operation, thus eliminating the issues with regard to control devices connected to medical devices and systems using wired connections and wireless transmission modules.

The X-ray machine of the invention is configured to move using a motor-driven system associated with a navigation system. A process for deploying an anti-scattering grid in a mammograph is provided. The mammograph comprises a radiation source configured to emit radiation for taking mammographic images of a patient, a radiation detector comprising a network of sensors arranged periodically with a first pitch, and an anti-scattering grid arranged between the source and the detector, the anti-scattering grid comprising radiation adsorbing strips arranged parallel to each other and distributed periodically with a second pitch. The process comprises: displacing the anti-scattering grid relative to the detector or displacing the detector relative to the anti-scattering grid during emission of radiation; adapting the second pitch to the first pitch, wherein displacement is perpendicular to the direction of the strips of the anti-scattering grid, the strips being arranged parallel to a side of the anti-scattering grid positioned against the patient, and altering the positions of the return points between successive periods of the displacement motion.

The medical imaging equipment comprises a support assembly, an arc-shaped member slidably mounted on the support assembly, a radiation source mounted on the arc-shaped member in the vicinity of a first distal end of the arc-shaped member and being oriented to radiate along the direction of an imaging axis, and a detector mounted on the arc-shaped member in the vicinity of the second distal end of the arc-shaped member and being oriented to face the source along the imaging axis, wherein the radiation source and the detector are respectively mounted on one side and the other of the mid plane of the arc-shaped member.
