The present disclosure relates generally to internet social media, and more specifically to techniques for determining location-related information about internet social media content. In some embodiments, a system accesses data representing a first social media post, the data including geographic location data identifying a first geographic location. The system identifies a second social media post related to the first post. The system accesses data representing the second social media post, wherein the data representing the second post does not include geographic location data identifying the first geographic location. The system analyzes the data representing the second social media post and determines a location score based at least in part on the analysis of the data representing the second social media post. If the location score exceeds a threshold location score, the system associates the second social media post with the first geographic location.

A software application executing on a server and communicating with an agent in a wireless access point predicts a type of a computing device wirelessly connected via a radio frequency link to the wireless access point. The application receives an indication of a model of the computing device from the wireless access point, and further receives one or more characteristics of the computing device from the wireless access point. The application then predicts the type of the computing device associated with the one or more of the indication of the model, and characteristics, of the computing device.

Method and apparatus for Wi-Fi device type identification and device type based diagnostics and optimization

Described is a method and system for connectivity diagnostics in communication systems. The method comprises: querying a first communication device at a first time and a second time to determine whether a second query a first communication device at a first time to determine communication device is connected to the first communication device and to determine a value of an operational parameter at the first and second times; and determining the second communication device disconnected from the first communication device based on detecting the second communication device was connected to the first communication device at both the first time and the second time, and detecting the value of the operational parameter at the second time is inside a range of threshold values. In one embodiment, the method comprises determining a link is unstable for connectivity based on connection duration, number and/or pattern of connection and/or disconnection events, and/or traffic activity during connection and/or disconnection events.

Method and system for connectivity diagnostics in communications systems

This application describes a flow cell to perform experiments under well-controlled hydrodynamic conditions. The resulting cell enables combining the advantages of in-situ spectroscopic ellipsometry with stagnation point flow conditions. An additional advantage is that the proposed cell features a fixed position of the 'inlet conduit' with respect to the substrate, thus facilitating the alignment of multiple substrates. Theoretical calculations were performed by computational fluid dynamics and compared with experimental data (adsorption kinetics) obtained for the adsorption of polyethylene glycol to silica under a variety of experimental conditions. Additionally, a simple methodology to correct experimental data for errors associated with the size of the measured spot and for variations of mass transfer in the vicinity of the stagnation point is herein introduced. The proposed correction method would allow researchers to reasonably estimate the adsorption kinetics at the stagnation point and quantitatively compare their results, even when using different experimental setups. The applicability of the proposed correction function was verified by evaluating the kinetics of protein adsorption under different experimental conditions.

The reusable abbreviated mitten system provides a rubberized mitten having an abbreviated mitten length such that the mitten reaches only to the base of the thumb of a user, a finger portion, a hand reinforcement cuff, a symmetrical thumb portion, an obround case having an open top, a closed bottom, and an inverted L clip disposed on one side of the case. The mitten provides for quick donning and doffing while saving considerably on materials and production costs to not only provide easy, quick, reusable use, but also to contribute to environmentalism and natural resource savings. The mitten is formed of elastic rubber and alternately non-elastic rubber.

A communication interface for a laser-guided projectile is configured to use the SAL seeker on board the laser-guided projectile as a communication link. A communication device generates a pulsed optical beam that overlaps the detection band of the SAL seeker. The pulsed optical beam is encoded with data for the SAL seeker. Computer-readable program code is loaded into and executed by the seeker's signal processor to process the signals generated in response to the pulsed optical beam to extract the data for the SAL seeker. Data is typically coupled to the projectile pre-launch but may be coupled in flight to the target.

A viscoelastic liquid flow splitter includes a flow splitter body having a first bore including a first bore outlet and a first bore inlet, and a second bore including a second bore outlet and a second bore inlet. The bore inlets are substantially parallel to each other and the bore outlets diverge from each other at an angle. The flow splitter also includes a compression fitting having a first and a second tubular portion fluidically coupled to the first and second bore inlets where the tubular portions are configured to fluidically couple to a double barreled viscoelastic liquid dispensing syringe.

A system and method for refueling unmanned aerial vehicles. The system is adapted to refuel a first unmanned aerial vehicle from a second unmanned aerial vehicle and includes an arrangement for flying the first and second vehicles to proximity within a predetermined range and for connecting an umbilical from the second vehicle to the first vehicle in flight. In the illustrative embodiment, the arrangement for connecting includes a targeting system for electromagnetically detecting a refueling receptacle on the first vehicle. The targeting system includes a first coil around a refueling receptacle on the first vehicle. A seeker is disposed at a first end of said umbilical on the second vehicle. The seeker includes three detector coils adapted to detect a magnetic signal from the first coil around the receptacle on the first vehicle. The coils are mounted such that the detector coils point in different directions. The outputs of the coils are processed to determine the direction and range to the UAV from the tanker UAV.

Method and system for inflight refueling of unmanned aerial vehicles

A block copolymer, preferably a block copolymer such as poly(isoprene-block-ethylene oxide), PI-b-PEO, is used as a structure directing agent for a polymer derived ceramic (PDC) precursor, preferably a silazane, most preferably a silazane commercially known as Ceraset. The PDC precursor is preferably polymerized after mixing with the block copolymer to form a nanostructured composite material. Through further heating steps, the nanostructured composite material can be transformed into a nanostructured non-oxide ceramic material, preferably a high temperature SiCN or SiC material.
