A double pull latch assembly and method of unlatching a panel. The double pull latch assembly includes a pull rod, a selector lever, and a linkage, wherein the selector lever is selectively disposed in a first feature or second feature of the linkage. In another embodiment, the double pull latch assembly includes a release arm, a lever, and a hold open lever to hold the lever in the intermediate position.

Dual pull latch assembly

A door inside release spring for a vehicle door assembly includes a torsional spring body, and a first spring arm extending from a first axial end of the spring body. The first spring arm is configured to be operably connected to an inside release lever to bias a position of the inside release lever. A second spring arm extends from a second axial end of the spring body opposite the first axial end. The second spring arm is configured to be operably connected to a child lock lever to bias a position of the child lock lever.

Inside release spring for vehicle door

A cable conduit end for securing a cable to a cable abutment of a latch is provided. The cable conduit end having: a housing; an alignment feature incorporated into a surface of the housing; a flexible retention feature integrally formed with the conduit end, wherein the flexible retention feature is spring biased away from the housing to a first position; and a radial retention feature extending outwardly away from the housing, wherein the flexible retention feature is located proximate to a first end of the housing and the radial retention feature is located proximate to a second end of the housing.

A latch having: a claw configured to rotate between an unlatched position and a latched position; a pawl configured for movement between an engaged position and a disengaged position, wherein the pawl retains the claw in the latched position when the pawl is in the engaged position and wherein the pawl releases the claw when it is in a disengaged position and the claw is free to move from the latched position to the unlatched position; a bumper located on the pawl to dampen noises as the pawl is moved by a portion of the claw; and wherein the detent lever is pivotally mounted to a frame of the latch proximate to a corner of an opening of the latch.

A latch is provided. The latch having: a housing; an intermittent lever pivotally mounted to the housing for movement between a latched position and an unlatched position; and an elastomeric feature configured to contact the intermittent lever when it is in the latched position.

Apparatus and method for enhancing sound performance of a latch

In one non-limiting embodiment, a latch system for a door of a vehicle is provided. The latch system includes a latch assembly, an accelerometer configured to measure acceleration of the vehicle, and a controller communicatively coupled to the accelerometer. The controller is configured to control an operation of the latch assembly. The controller prevents transition of the latch assembly to a disengaged position when the measured acceleration exceeds a predetermined threshold to facilitate preventing the door from opening.

Vehicle door latch with electronic override

A vehicle door latch assembly is disclosed herein, having: a fork bolt movably secured to the latch assembly; a detent lever movably secured to the latch assembly, the detent lever being capable of movement between an engaged position and a disengaged position, the detent lever retains the fork bolt in a latched position when the detent lever is in the engaged position and an engagement surface of the detent lever contacts an engagement surface of the fork bolt; an inertia block out assembly for preventing the detent lever from moving into the disengaged position when the inertia block out assembly is in a blocking position; and a manual override mechanism for the inertia block out assembly, wherein the manual override mechanism requires at least three independent actions to be performed to move the inertia block out assembly from the blocking position to an unblocking position.

Vehicle door latch

A vehicle door latch assembly is provided, the latch assembly having: a fork bolt movably secured to the latch assembly, the fork bolt being capable of movement between a latched position and an unlatched position; a detent lever movably secured to the latch assembly, the detent lever being capable of movement between an engaged position and a disengaged position, the detent lever retains the fork bolt in the latched position when the detent lever is in the engaged position and a engagement surface of the detent lever contacts an engagement surface of the fork bolt; and a spring member integrally formed with the detent lever, the spring member being deflected by a bumper secured to the latch assembly when the detent lever is moved to the engaged position.

A system is disclosed herein. The system having a backdrive assembly that includes a spring body retainer having a first body portion, the spring body retainer configured for rotational movement about an axis. A biasing member is provided that is configured to exert a backdriving force on the spring body retainer. A spring leg retainer is provided having a second body portion and a plurality of projections, the spring leg retainer being configured to incrementally apply a preload torque to the biasing member. A spring locking plate is operably connected to the spring leg retainer, the spring locking plate being configured to engage at least one of the plurality of projections.
