An evaporating system for separating at least two liquids mixed with one another includes a reactor vessel for receiving the mixture from an inlet, the mixture having a mixture level in the reactor vessel, a blowing-in device for blowing a gaseous aerating agent into the mixture and absorbing the first liquid, a heating device for heating the mixture, an outlet for discharging the aerating agent and the absorbed first liquid, and an inlet for introducing a gaseous fluid above the mixture level to generate a gaseous transport stream to the outlet.

A seal assembly for sealing a shaft bearing includes a seal housing, first and second seal rings retained by the seal housing, an annular chamber formed between the first and second seal rings and a connecting channel configured to place the annular chamber in fluid communication with a bearing-housing-side oil space. When the seal assembly is installed on a shaft, the connecting channel is configured to permit a fill-level equalization between the oil space and the annular chamber when the oil space is filled to a first possible fill level (N) and to prevent the fill-level equalization between oil space and annular chamber when the oil space is filled to a second possible fill level (N).

A sealing system for sealing a shaft located under water includes a bush mountable on the shaft and fixed to the shaft, a housing fixed with respect to the bush and surrounding a first portion of the bush, a lubricant chamber and an air chamber in the housing and open to the bush, the lubricant chamber being sealed with respect to the air chamber by a seal ring, a mechanical seal outside the housing and surrounding a second portion of the bush, an air supply line and an air discharge line connected to the air chamber, and a quantity of lubricating oil in the lubricant chamber, the lubricating oil being in fluid communication with a lubricant tank via at least one oil line, wherein an air pressure in the air chamber is greater than an oil pressure in the lubricant chamber.

Sealing system, method and watercraft

A sealing system for sealing shafts against liquid media, for example propeller shafts, impeller shafts, rudder stocks of ships and the like. Opposing corner regions of the sealing system that are located radially inside of a clamping space, for clamping at least one sealing ring, are formed by inclined run-on surfaces that diverge when viewed radially from the inside towards the outside. For accommodation in the clamping space, a clamping section of the sealing ring comprises two opposite edge regions that are formed by inclined surfaces that correspond to the run-on surfaces.

A seal for sealing around a shaft includes a radially outer clamp-in element to be clamped into a housing, an intermediate membrane part extending radially inwardly (toward the shaft) at an angle from the clamp-in element, and an angled base part at a radially inner end of the intermediate membrane part. A spring is received in a receiving groove that forms a spring pocket in the base part, and the spring exerts a contact pressure of a seal lip of the base part against the shaft. In a pressureless state without a pressure differential across the seal, the spring pocket has a width larger than the sectional diameter of the spring and thus forms a free play space for the spring in the pocket.

A seal arrangement for sealing a propeller shaft where it penetrates through the hull of a watercraft includes a shaft bushing around this portion of the shaft, one or more seal rings forming a seal around the shaft bushing, and a stationary support holding the seal ring or rings. The shaft bushing includes an outer bushing part made of a wear-resistant material, arranged coaxially around an inner bushing part made of a material having a high thermal conductivity. The thickness of the outer part relative to the thickness of the inner part is a ratio in a range from 1:10 to 1:3. The two-part shaft bushing can provide optimized thermal conductivity and heat dissipation away from the seal rings to the cool exterior water environment, as well as optimized wear-resistance, corrosion resistance and reduced friction for the seal rings.

A seal arrangement for a ship's propeller shaft includes at least one oil-filled seal chamber bounded by seal rings around the shaft, as well as an oil reservoir tank, an oil supply line connecting the tank to the bottom portion of the seal chamber, an oil circulation pump interposed in the supply line between the tank and the seal chamber, and an oil return line communicating from the upper portion of the seal chamber back to the tank. Thereby, oil is continuously circulated through the seal chamber, and thereby flushes out any contaminant particles, air or water that might enter the seal chamber.
