A lifter device for a jacquard machine comprising a first lifter element and a second lifter element suspended from at least one hook, respectively. The hook is adapted to be selected to be carried along by one of two knives moving up and down in counterphase. A reversing roller is provided on the device. A lifter cord is provided. The lifter cord is either attached at one end to a part of the machine and is then passed over a roller of the first lifter element or is attached directly to the first lifter element. In either case the cord is passed over a reversing roller and a roller of the second lifter element. The other end of the cord is connected to at least one harness cord. The reversing roller is hingedly fixed and is disposed with its working face diagonal to the working faces of the rollers of the lifter elements.

A thread-tensioning and pull-back device for use with a weaving machine for controlling the tension of a series of warp threads pulled off from removable and replaceable bobbins arranged in rows in a weaving rack of a weaving machine is adapted to be located in front of the weaving rack of the weaving machine. The device includes a series of thread guide plates each having a feed-through eye whereby each guide plate tensions the thread through each guide plates own weight. The guide plates could also be leaf springs which tension the threads by bending stress.

A system for bringing ground warp threads under tension on a beam stand comprises first and second rollers on which the ground warp threads run. The first roller is mounted on a support which is movable in relation to the second roller. A mechanism for exerting force on the support is provided whereby the ground warp threads on the beam stand are brought under tension. The mechanism includes a hydraulic element that is connected to a hydraulic pressure vessel by a pipe provided with an apparatus for controlling or regulating the hydraulic fluid.

Jacquard machine with lifter device has a first (1) and a second lifter element (2). The lifter elements are suspended from at least one hook (3, 4), (5, 6) respectively, which hook can be selected to be carried along by one of two knives (7'), (8') moving up and down in counterphase. A reversing roller (9') is provided. A lifter cord (10) is attached by one end (10') to a part of the device and is passed in succession over a roller (1') of the first lifter element (1), the reversing roller (9') and a roller (2') of the second lifter element (2). The other end of the cord is connected to one or more harness cords for lifting at least one warp thread on a weaving loom. First and second grates are provided on the machine. The reversing roller (9') is attached on a first grate (12). Each grate (12), (11) optionally can be disposed either in a fixed position or in a movable position such that it can be set in motion up and down in phase with one of the knives (7'), (8'). The Jacquard machine is convertable from a three-position Jacquard machine to a four-position Jacquard machine, and vice-versa, or to a five-position Jacquard machine, and vice-versa.

A coupling device allows for the rapid releasable connection of harness cords to lifting cords on weaving machines. A first coupler is connected to lifting cords and a second coupler is connected to harness cords. An intermediate coupler is removable connected to the first and second couplers. The intermediate coupler allows for quick and easy, manual or automatic, coupling and decoupling of the first and second elements. The second coupling elements and the intermediate elements are adapted so that only the connection therebetween is breakable when pulling forces are exerted thereon.

A device is provided for separating and tensioning warp threads in a face-to-face weaving machine of the type used for weaving at least a first fabric and a second fabric that are linked to each other, the first fabric including at least a plurality of first binding warp threads and first tension warp threads and the second fabric including at least a plurality of second binding warp threads and second tension warp threads. The device comprises a first set of rollers for separating the first binding warp threads from the first tension warp threads, a second set of rollers for causing the separated first binding warp threads to cross each other between the rollers in the second set, a third set of rollers, structurally similar to the first set, for separating the second binding warp threads from the second tension warp threads, and a fourth set of rollers, structurally similar to the second set, for causing the separated second binding warp threads to cross each other between the rollers in the fourth set. The first binding warp threads in the first fabric attain substantially the same tension as the second binding warp threads in the second fabric.

Technique for separating and tensioning warp threads in a face-to-face

A loom reed with integral deflector heald frame is designed to prevent yarns from becoming entangled during the weaving of carpets and/or velvets, in a face-to-face or pile wire weaving loom. The reed includes dents or drop wires wherein at least one drop wire (3) is made up of a staggered or offset front and rear part which are parallel to each other. The offset between the two parts is in the weft insertion direction relative to the front part (8) of the drop wire (3).

A Jacquard machine for weaving face-to-face fabrics consisting of a bottom fabric and a top fabric between which pile threads are stretched, incorporating two systems, one for each fabric. For each pile thread, the machine incorporates a selection element with hooks under the action of knives, a cord which is connected to one of the hooks, a lifting device, and a grate which is driven together with one of the knives. The invention enables pile warp threads to be taken into more than three different positions with the aid of a single selection element, thereby reducing the cost and size of the Jacquard machine.

Machine for weaving face to face fabrics

In weaving face-to-face pile fabrics, in a 2-shot weave, pattern forming portions of pile warps go over 3 wefts while bound-in portions go over only 2 picks. Working pattern repeats--over 3 wefts--are defined for each possible pile warp by aprons which determine the positions of the pile warps. Resultant pile fabrics have precise pattern definition with no crossed piles at pattern borders.

Face-to-face 2-shot carpet weave

A lifter mechanism for a Jacquard machine is connected to two hooks. This mechanism has one lifter element with two rollers and one roller element. This mechanism also has one lifter cord passing around under the top roller of the lifter element and is fixed by each end to one of the hooks while the roller element is immovably fixed below the lifter element. The mechanism has an additional lifter cord which is fixed by one end next to the other lifter cord to one of the hooks. This lifter cord is passed around under the roller of the roller element, around over the bottom roller of the lifter element, and is extended back down, where it connected to the warp threads. The rollers are placed on shafts, which, in a horizontal plane, form an angle (.alpha.) relative to a line parallel to the direction of the knives. The roller of the roller element is placed on a shaft which, in a horizontal plane along the other side, forms an angle (.beta.) relative to a line parallel to the direction of the knives, while the outsides of the flank pieces and of the side plates are situated in vertical planes lying at right angles to the direction of the knives.

Lifter mechanism for jacquard machine

A tackle device for lifting at least one warp thread in an open-shed jacquard machine, with two complementary hooks, in which one end of each of a first tackle cord is fixed to one hook and the other end to a second adjacent hook. A first tackle element with two rotary rollers is suspended in a loop formed by the first tackle cord. A second tackle cord is attached at one end to a fixed point of the first tackle element and runs around a third rotary roller of a fixed second tackle element further going around the second roller of the first tackle element and having the other end attached to a warp thread.

Tackle device for a double lift open-shed jacquard machine

A pulley arrangement for a Jacquard machine, in which for at least every two picks, three positions can be created for the warp threads is made up of two pulley elements (14) and (17) hanging above one another and suspended below each set of two complimentary hooks (11), (12). Pulley cord (13) is fixed by each end to one of the hooks (11), (12), with the downward-hanging part running over the top roller (14') of pulley element (14). Pulley cord (15) is suspended from one hook (11) and runs with the downward-hanging part over the top roller (17') of pulley element (17). It is passed upward over the bottom roller (14') and is fixed by the end to fixed and controllable grid (16). Pulley cord (18) is guided over the bottom roller (17') of pulley element (17), fixed by one end to fixed or controllable grid (19) and is connected by the other end to at least one warp thread.

Tackle suspension for a Jacquard machine

Drive system for the knife grids of a double-lift open-shed Jacquard machine, which is mounted entirely above the Jacquard machine, and which comprises a central drive shaft which at both ends drives a set of conjugate cams which imparts motion to two follower levers which lie diametrically opposite each other. These follower levers carry out a to and fro pivoting movement in opposite phase to each other, about a transverse axis of symmetry, in between their arms. With each pair of follower levers two knife suspension bars are connected to said arms by means of drive rods in such a way that they move up and down in vertical, parallel planes in opposite phase to each other. A number of knives are suspended in the weft direction on every two knife suspension bars moving in phase, which are situated on either side of the machine in the warp direction. The lift and the inclination of the knife suspension bars are adjustable.

Drive system for the knife grids of a double-lift jacquard machine

Device comprising a structure disposed above the knives of an electronically controlled Jacquard machine such that on the upward movement of the knives the hooks moving with them carry along at least one part of the structure. As a result, during the dropping of the knives the downward retracting force acting upon thw hooks is increased by the weight carried along. A preferred embodiment is an auxiliary grid comprising a number of horizontal auxiliary grid bars fixed parallel and adjacent to each other in a frame. Each of said bars lie parallel along the direction of movement of a knife and just above it, in such a way that a hook moving up with the knife raises the grid with its hook nose. The grid is supported and guided by various mechanisms.
