A hinge is provided with two elements pivotally connected together for relative rotational movement about a hinge axis. The hinge has a spring formed of bent wire. The spring is mounted on one of the elements and a mechanism causes it to apply a biassing force between the two elements over at least part of their relative rotational movement. The biassing force is transmitted via a finger on the spring. A spreader is arranged to fit over the finger for engagement with the other element. The spreader extends continuously over the finger and engages substantially the whole of the finger.

Hinges

A hinge assembly has first and second parts pivotally connected together. One of the parts has a hinge cup () and is connectable to a first element such as a cupboard door. The other part is connectable to a second element such as the cupboard carcase. The assembly includes a linear damping device (), which is actuable to provide a damped resistive force over at least part of the range of relative pivotal movement between the two hinge elements. The linear damping device () is conveniently mounted within the hinge cup ().

A fastening element () is provided for use with a tightening element () in a device for forming a joint between two panels (). The fastening element is elongate and has a head () at one end for engaging the tightening element, an expander () at the other end and a shank () extending there between. The fastening element further comprises a sleeve () having an expandable section () at one end extending over the expander, with the expander operatively engaging the sleeve to cause outward movement of its expandable section upon axial displacement of the fastening element relative to the sleeve. The sleeve is provided with at least one outwardly facing cutting edge () on its expandable section. The cutting edge has sufficient strength to cut into the panel material in use of the device, when the expandable section is inserted into a face hole in a first one of the panels.

A touch-latch device used in furniture especially for initial opening of an opening furniture component, comprising a housing with an axially arranged groove, in which a push element is slidingly arranged, said element being actuated by a helical spring and controllable by a dual-position guide mechanism comprising a cam groove guide and an S-pin, wherein the device comprises a push element controlled by two dual-position guide mechanisms, wherein each cam groove guide of a dual-position guide mechanism is arranged on a lateral side of the push element and the S-pin is pivoted in the lateral wall of the groove of the housing, and that the push element is provided at its free end with a regulation plug arranged by means of a bolted joint, said plug being displaceable in axial direction, wherein the axial displacement of the regulation plug is limited by an arrester arranged therein.

A quick coupling furniture hinge for a quick arrangement of a door of a furniture element onto a base furniture element, wherein the hinge comprises a hinge pot arranged in the furniture door and a hinge arm pivotably fastened thereon. The hinge arm is provided with a mounting assembly fixed in the hinge arm, via which mounting assembly the hinge arm is fastened to a base mounting panel that is fixed on the base furniture element, so that the pivotable assemblies co-operate independently from each other with each complementarily shaped element arranged on the base mounting panel.

A parallelogram hinge for vertical-movement doors includes a first plate designed to be fastened to the furniture flank, a second plate designed to be fastened to the door and two superposed arms pivotally mounted to the plates to form an articulated parallelogram. A spring for movement balancing is connected to the upper arm at an intermediate position between the arm extremities hinged to the plates and is connected to the first plate at a point below the pivot point of the lower arm on the first plate. This enables very reduced bulkiness in the direction of the furniture depth, achievement of a great opening angle and better operation of the spring embodied by a gas piston.

A device for automatic battery-operated lighting of the inside of a piece of furniture comprises a body provided with fixing means on a surface of the furniture by means of a mounting surface thereof and a chamber containing an electric battery and a light source and from which the control end of a normally closed pushbutton contact protrudes frontally for the connection of the battery to the light source when the furniture is opened. The fixing means comprises a tongue, intended for resting at a corner of the surface of the furniture and a tooth facing the tongue that is intended to be inserted into a hole on set surface of the furniture. A hooking lever is rotatable on the base body from an unhooking position to a hooking position, controlling the movement of means for moving the tooth towards the tongue to cause the tooth to engage in the wall of the hole with a reaction on the tongue resting on the corner of the furniture.

A door with a pressure opening comprises articulated hinges for hinging to the piece of furniture, and a pull-push closing device to be released by manual thrust of the door towards the inside. At least one articulated hinge comprises a spring acting for its movement from the closed position to the open position, in the way of pushing the door to the open position against the retaining action in the closed position performed by the pull-push device in order to help in opening the door upon release of the pull-push device.

A hinge for connection of two furniture parts comprises a bowl-shaped element designed to be fastened to a first furniture part and a wing rotatably in engagement with said bowl-shaped element, the wing being adapted to be fastened to an intermediate element that, in turn, is fastened to a hinge base designed to be secured to a second furniture part, a shock absorber being present which comprises a body designed to be rigidly connected to said second furniture part and a shock absorbing member movably mounted on said body to restrain the closing movement of the hinge. The shock absorber body is mounted on the intermediate element of the hinge.

A hinge for furniture of the 'frame' type comprises a base portion to be mounted to the frame of the piece of furniture and a portion for fastening to the furniture door and articulated on the base portion. The base portion comprises a lower element intended for fastening to the furniture frame, and an upper element supporting the articulation to the portion fastening the hinge to the door. The lower and upper elements are connected to each other for mutual-sliding movement in a direction longitudinal to the hinge, means for controlled adjustment of the sliding movement being present close to one end of the base portion. The two base elements are made of cut-out sheet metal and means for sliding constraint in the adjustment direction are present between them, said means comprising half-punched pins projecting from side walls of one of the two elements for sliding fitting into corresponding slots in the other element.

A hinge for furniture comprises a fastening box designed to be received with a central portion thereof into a hole in a piece of furniture. The box comprises two axially rotatable pins designed to be fitted into the hole together with the central portion of the box. Each pin has at least one laterally projecting tab. Working levers enable the pins to be rotated to lead the tabs to project outwardly of the box so as to interfere with the wall of the receiving hole and prevent the box from being drawn out of the hole.

A position-adjustable base for furniture hinges comprises a base body superposed on a fastening plate. The base body in turn comprises means designed for fitting of a hinge wing and has a pair of opposite side flanges. Each flange has a slot for sliding fastening which is elongated in the adjusting direction of the base, and the fastening plate has a corresponding through hole appearing in the area under the slot to be passed through together with the latter by a screw for fastening of the base to the piece of furniture and to enable sliding of the base body on the fastening plate in said adjusting direction with the screw head bearing on side edges of the corresponding slot. The holes in the fastening plate are surrounded by a raised collar entering the slot and constituting a rest for the head of the corresponding screw when the screw is tightened. Thus a pre-established sliding-resisting force can be obtained, irrespective of the tightening force of the screws.
