A method () of route selection in a wireless communication system and a control system () is provided. The method includes selecting a route between a first node () and a second node () and comprises: &#x2014;evaluating () a plurality of possible routes (R, R, R, R), at least one route (R, R, R) including a third node () between the first and the second node; and &#x2014;selecting () the route that has the lowest latency among the possible routes. Especially the method () includes: &#x2014;selecting () parameter settings for each link of the possible routes, said selecting () comprising; &#x2014;selecting () the length of the cyclic prefix, &#x2014;evaluating () combinations of the selected cyclic prefix and different settings of the at least one further parameter of the physical layer; &#x2014;selecting () the parameter settings that has lowest estimated latency and fulfils at least one communication quality criterion.

Route selection in a wireless communication system

Method and system of wireless TDMA scheduling for industrial machine-to-machine communication, including propagation-delay-aware scheduling. A method of scheduling in a TDMA based communication system between a first node and a plurality of second nodes by means of a respective communication link. The method may comprise obtaining a propagation time for each communication link; and determining the largest difference in propagation times of two communication links. The method may further include selecting a first mode of scheduling if the largest difference is smaller than a threshold, and selecting a second mode of scheduling if the largest difference is larger than the threshold. The first mode includes selecting a guard time to be applied in each of the time slots, which guard time is based on the largest difference. The second mode is propagation-delay-aware and includes scheduling the transmission from each second node on the basis of the respective propagation time.

Method and system of wireless TDMA scheduling for industrial machine-to-machine communication, including propagation-delay-aware scheduling

A method for time-slotted scheduling of packets in timeslots between N nodes and K&#x3e;1 access points in an industrial wireless network, performed by a network controller of the industrial wireless network. The method includes determining the time-slotted scheduling by allocating each timeslot to a respective one of the nodes, wherein each timeslot for each node is divided in K sub-slots, one for each access point, such that in sub-slot k of each timeslot, where 1&#x2264;k&#x2264;K, transmission or reception of a packet is made between access point k and the node to which that timeslot is allocated. The method includes providing information to the access points about the determined time-slotted scheduling.
