A data transaction apparatus includes a housing, a system circuit board comprising a tamper detection circuit disposed in the housing, and a tamper protection device configured to seal the system circuit board within the housing in a detachable manner. The tamper protection device includes a tamper resistant board and a resin layer covering the tamper resistant board, wherein the tamper resistant board includes a flexible substrate and a plurality of fence-like lead wires disposed on the flexible substrate. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the tamper detection circuit is triggered to generate a secure response when a tamper event is detected.

A printer with a chassis, a hinge and a paper cover assembly. The chassis may have a printing head and a notch. The hinge may have an axis, and may be coupled with the chassis such that the rotational axis of the hinge is laterally movable. The paper cover assembly may be coupled with the hinge, and may be rotatable about the hinge. The paper cover assembly may have a roller and a handle. The roller may have an axis, and when the paper cover assembly is closed, the axis of the roller may be within the notch. The handle may be configured to move a cam mechanism, and when the paper cover assembly is closed and the mechanism is moved, the mechanism may act against the chassis causing the axis of the hinge to laterally move, thereby causing the axis of the roller to move out of the notch.

A device is capable of locking or unlocking a card in a card reader. An actuator carries a drive bushing onto which one end of a coil spring is mounted such that the axis of the coil spring is approximately parallel to the rotation axis of the actuator. The opposite end of the coil spring is mounted on a drive nut. A threaded shaft is fixed to a slide block with an elongated hole, and the movements of both are constrained to a single degree of freedom by the engagement of the elongated hole with a fixed pin and by the engagement of an extension of the threaded shaft with the inner hole of the drive bushing. The linear movement of the slide block causes a latch plate to move by means of a linear sliding pair between them so as to lock or unlock the inserted card.

Disclosed is a printer having: a fixed chassis mounted thereon; a moving chassis being engageable with the fixed chassis between an open position and a closed position; a cutter including a fixed blade and a moving blade; a paper drive roll; a thermal head; and driving means driving the paper drive roll to subject paper rolling along a paper path formed between the thermal head and the paper drive roll, and the fixed blade and moving blade; wherein the thermal head is in a path of the paper drive roll and wherein the moving blade urges the fixed blade towards the fixed chassis when the moving chassis is at the closed position, and a restraining module for maintaining an appropriate gap between the fixed blade and the moving blade when the moving chassis is engaging the fixed chassis.

Disclosed is a printer including: a fixed chassis mounted on the printer; a moving chassis being engageable with the fixed chassis between an open position and a closed position; and a cutting mode switching module for controlling a cutting mode of the printer, characterized in the cutting mode switching module comprising: a fixed blade mounted at the fixed chassis; a moving blade having an elongated pivot hole, through which pivot hole the moving blade is pivoted to a pivot end of the moving chassis such that the moving blade is shiftable within the pivot hole between a first position and a second position, and such that the fixed blade and moving blade is formed with a paper path therebetween when the moving chassis is at the closed position; a motor mounted in the moving chassis; and a crank pin engaging with and cranking the moving blade and driven by the motor to rotate in a first direction or a second direction; whereby when the moving chassis is at the closed position, the moving blade is capable of performing a partial cut or a full cut of the paper passing through the paper path depending on the rotational direction of the motor.

Disclosed is a tear bar for a thermal printer mechanism, the thermal printer mechanism including at least a thermal head that is housed in a device housing defining an interior space with a base and surrounding walls and being formed with a window next to one of the surrounding walls, the tear bar comprising: a body portion having a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge opposing the first longitudinal edge; a tear portion extending along the first longitudinal edge at a first angle with respect to the body portion; a support portion extending along the second longitudinal edge at a second angle with respect to the body portion in a direction substantially opposing the tear portion; and a retaining device formed at the support portion; whereby when the body portion rests against the base juxtaposed the window, a channel space is formed between the support portion and the surrounding wall for retaining the thermal printer mechanism therein.

An improved method and apparatus in a printing device having a printhead displaceable along a record carrier. The record carrier is supported beneath the printhead by a platen. The improved apparatus includes a mechanism for spacing the printing distance between the printhead and the record carrier. The spacing mechanism is positioned to bear upon the record carrier in advance of the printhead. A mechanism urges the platen away from the printhead and the spacing mechanism so as to permit a ribbon mechanism to be inserted between the printhead and the platen.

A printer frame assembly having snap-together parts includes a base member, two side frame members, resilient cushions and an impact platen. The base member has locating receptacles to position the side frame members and interlocking flexure latches to snap-lock with corresponding locking surfaces located on the two side frame members. The interlocking flexure latches provide a bias to align the side frame members in a front-to-back direction and lateral alignment channels to prevent lateral displacement. The resilient cushions are positioned between the bottoms of the side frame members and the base member to urge the interlocking flexure latches and locking surfaces into secure engagement and to eliminate any clearances between the side frame members and the base member. The impact platen serves as a structural member of the frame and is positioned intermediate the two side frame members. The method of frame assembly comprises locating the resilient cushions on the base member, snapping the side frame members into respective locating receptacles and flexure latches of the base member, thereby trapping the resilient cushions, and locking the impact platen between the two side frame members.

The mounting arrangement permits the mounting of a face mounted electric motor in right-angular relationship on a support frame member without requiring the use of separate fasteners, such as screws and the like, and is of particular value when mounting of the motor by robotic techniques. The motor is provided with a mounting flange having a pair of diametrically opposed outwardly extending mounting ears with mounting openings provided therein. A pair of motor support members is provided on the support frame and includes semi-spherical cam projections which are aligned with the openings in the mounting flange when the mounting face of the motor is positioned against the support frame and rotated until the semi-spherical cam projections snap into position in the openings in the mounting ears.
