A new weighted ball exercise device is disclosed. The ball has handles connected to covers located on opposite sides of the ball. The handles rotate 360 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. The handles alleviate stress on the user's wrists and provide a firm grip. The ball has an internal weight storage compartment or weight drawer that may be opened to permit adding or removing weights of various sizes and weights. The compartment can be axially located between the covers, and be locked and unlocked by action of spring-loaded button mechanism. In another embodiment, the ball has opposing rotatable covers with handles and grips. Weights are removably insertable into one or more recessed compartments located about the ball's outer surface, and may be radially spaced apart. A kettle bell handle attachment can be inserted into the outer surface to permit conversion of the ball to a kettle ball device.

All in one fitness ball

The invention includes systems and methods of cleaning, for example, machining waste from holes in work pieces such as metal castings. The invention depends upon submerging, in a liquid, openings of the respective holes to be cleaned, aligning a nozzle with each such hole, with liquid disposed between the nozzle and the hole, and expressing one or more blasts of pressurized gas from the nozzles, through the intervening liquid, and into the holes. The apparatus contemplates a system having an array of nozzles positioned and arranged around the work piece such that a nozzle is positioned at each hole to be cleaned. The apparatus can be configured for cleaning a family of related work pieces, having differing arrangements of holes to be cleaned, by providing a nozzle for each hole included in the combination of all the arrays of all the work pieces to be cleaned.

Cleaning system and method

An apparatus and a method are provided for detecting leaks in sealed packages. The apparatus and method are particularly well-suited for an on-line system wherein each package filled and sealed on a commercial packaging line is inspected for possible leaks or seal defects. A force transducer arrangement is used, and the package is maintained at substantially constant volume while positive wall pressure over time is monitored. Diagnostic properties can be included whereby it is possible to precisely detect exactly which compartment of a multiple-compartment package and exactly which package station, has an excessive incidence of defects.

Package leak detection

A food preparation device includes a plurality of teeth on a bottom rim of a hollow cylindrical body. Each of the teeth includes an apex that extends parallel to the longitudinal centerline of the device and two surfaces intersecting each other at the apex. In one form of the device, the surfaces are curved in one direction, in another form of the device, the surfaces are planar, and in a third form of the device, the surfaces are curved in three directions. Another form of the device includes a serrated cutting edge on the bottom rim.

Food preparation device

An apparatus for defiberizing a web of compressed material into fluff and then forming the fluff into pads, and a method of use of the apparatus. The apparatus includes a hammermill or other machine for performing the actual defiberizing. The fluff is then drawn by vacuum which is contained within a shroud, into insert molds which form fluff pads in any shape and contour desired. The insert molds are assembled into a drum which turns continuously such that the vacuum is applied to only certain of the molds. As each mold leaves the shroud, any excess fluff which may overfill the mold is removed and recycled. The pad is then removed from the mold and passed downstream for further processing. The apparatus includes an arrangement for vacuuming out any remaining bits of fiber after the pad is removed. Also included is an apparatus for culling the pads at the discretion of the operator for start-up and shut-down as well as other purposes. The excess fluff which overfills the molds can be removed by scarfing rolls and additionally by air streams which are drawn by the vacuum and directed at the excess fluff as it is removed by the scarfing rolls. The molds themselves are changeable and can be easily replaced if a different shape or size of pad is required, by merely removing the current insert molds and installing ones having the desired shape and contour.

Apparatus for forming fibrous pads

A system for packaging leadless electronic and electrical components for automatic component placement machines including a low-cost, disposable, flexible engineered laminated carrier tape on which leadless components are held, a reel for winding said component tape, the reel being fabricated with a core of solid fiber chipboard and side discs sheets of coated kraft paper such that the carrier tape may be sealed within the coated paper side sheets of the reel and peeled from side sheets while unwinding. The flexible engineered laminated carrier tape includes a stable base layer member, a flexible, expandable and compressible upper member layer of the laminated carrier tape structure, and a creped top cover tape as required including tape drive engaging means integrally formed with said base layer member and spaced recessed areas formed in said carrier tape for receiving leadless components, and further including means to determine the presence or absence of components in each of said recessed areas after the carrier tape is loaded with components.

Multi-chip packaging system

An instrument for separating out any one or more of the components of any given sample of fluff. The instrument includes a base having an annular opening formed in its upper surface. A spindle is journaled in the base, and supports a sieve and enclosure over itself. A compressed air bar is located between the sieve and the spindle, to allow compressed air to escape through the sieve and impact on the fluff sample in the enclosure. A motor is provided to turn the chamber, sieve and enclosure while the air bar is held stationary. The motor turns the spindle by any suitable arrangement such as belt drive, rim drive, direct drive or any other appropriate arrangement. A vacuum motor and assembly communicates with the annular base opening to draw components to be separated from the sample through the sieve, spindle and base, leaving only the remaining components in the enclosure above the sieve. These components are compared to determine the quality of the fluff sample.

Instrument for separating fluff components

An apparatus and method for transferring and applying discrete lengths of material to a moving web is disclosed. The material is supplied to a plurality of applicator units (41). Each applicator unit (41) has a first applicator segment (42) and a second applicator segment (43). The applicator units (41) are rotated around a drum axis (35a). The web supply section (11) feeds the web (21) to a fluted corrugating roll (22). The first applicator segment (42) is rotated about a first axis and the second applicator segment (43) is rotated about a second axis, wherein the first and second applicator segments (42) and (43) are linearly aligned when passing under an extruder (27). Then the first and second applicator segments (42) and (43) rotate around the first and second axis to place the first and second applicator segments in space relationship when the material (33) is bonded to peaks (21a) of the web (21). Then the first and second applicator segments (42) and (43) rotate back around the first and second axis to place the first and second applicator segments back in linear alignment. The web removal section (15) removes the web (21) from the fluted corrugating roll (22) and pulls out the corrugations in the web (21), wherein the material (33) is stretched and bonded to the web (21) between the bonded peaks (21a).

Apparatus and method for transferring and applying material

The subject invention involves equipment for tracking the sun by utilizing its energy. Otherwise expressed, the invention is directed to what may be termed a solar collector assembly which is operated by the rays of the sun for automatically maintaining the assembly correctly positioned on the sun in order to substantially obtain the maximum amount of energy therefrom when it is available.

Means for tracking the sun

Apparatus for manufacturing discrete embossed consecutively numbered license plates from a continuous length of web or strip of sheet metal comprises a hole punching press, an embossing press, a rimming press, and a blanking press, all of which operate in unison. A feed conveyor is located between the rimming and blanking presses to advance the web in steps through the entire series of presses. The movable platen of the embossing press cooperates with a numerical registering device having an assembly of relatively rotatable decimal rings and each ring has a series of embossed numbers on its obverse side and a corresponding number of holes on its converse side. The registering device also comprises an indexing mechanism to advance the rings in desired sequences and the indexing mechanism comprises a motor driven oscillatory indexing arm movable through a counting stroke to advance one or more rings one step and a return stroke. The indexing arm carries four pneumatically actuated clutch units, each having a clutch pin selectively extendable to engage the pin hole on its associated ring to advance that ring. The indexing mechanism further comprises four stationarily mounted pneumatically actuated lock pin units, each having a lock pin selectively extendable to engage the pin hole on its associated ring to lock the ring until the next advance is required. Appropriate control means are provided.
