Tunnel boring machine comprising a number of swingable arms (11,12,13,14) provided with boring tools (41,42,43,44) for the working of the tunnel wall outside its normal diameter. The arms may be swung outwardly into an active position or retracted into an inactive position. These tools may be independently actuated and facilitate the insertion of steel supporting arcs into the excavated area.

Tunnel boring machine

Rock working tool for a tunnel boring machine. The tool comprises a shaft (34) with a central hole (35). A tool part (8,9) is rotatably journalled on the shaft. The tool is cooled through the arrangement of channels (40,41,42) in the tool for conducting cooling liquid from a pressure liquid source (22) to the central hole and via the channel (42) which flushes directly on the tool part (8,9).

Rock working tool

Tunnel boring machine comprising a transmission housing (11) which during boring is fixed relative to the tunnel. The boring head (15) is axially displaceable relative to an outgoing shaft (14) of the transmission housing while transferring torque from the outgoing shaft to the boring head. A number of fluid cylinders (16) are arranged between the transmission housing and a bearing housing (19,30) for the boring head in order to press the boring head against a tunnel front.

A starting device for an automobile motor in which an asynchronous motor (23) is used both as starting motor and generator. A number of solid state switches (10), forming part of an inverter, is arranged on a metal bar (7) extending along the stator (4) of the motor. The metal bar is connected to one terminal of a voltage supply (21). The stator conduits (9) are connected to a solid state switch and to the other terminal of the voltage supply.

Starting device

A hand-held electrically powered hammer tool with a rotor-type electromotor (17) and a hammer mechanism (14) arranged in a machine housing (13). The hammer mechanism (14) includes a drive shaft (24) with an excentric crank pin (35) thereon for a piston rod (43) connected to a drive piston (40) reciprocably movable in a cylinder (42) for driving a hammer piston (41) towards a working tool (16) via an air cushion (44) between the two pistons. The drive shaft for the hammer mechanism (14) is also the rotor shaft of the electromotor (17) so that the hammer mechanism and the motor are driven by the same speed. The electromagnetically active parts (23,49) of the rotor (18) are located outside of and surround the corresponding parts (21, 22) of the electromotor stator (19) thus enabling the rotor also to be a flywheel and a fanwheel.

Hand-held hammer tool

A rotary machine having two meshing rotors (14,15) rotatable in intersecting bores (12,13). The bore walls are provided with a number of electrical windings (18,19) being stator windings of an electric motor in which the pump rotors (14,15) are the rotors of the electric motor. The electrical windings are connected to an inverter which creates rotating magnetic fields which rotate the rotors.

A lubricant circulation system for an automotive vehicle in which a filter and container unit (23) is used. This unit can be unscrewed and be replaced with another one so that both lubricant and filter (24) can be quickly replaced.

An internal combustion engine (11) including a turbocharger system comprising a supercharger compressor (16) connected to the intake manifold (12) of the engine driven by a first turbine (15) mounted on a common shaft (21) with the compressor and connected to the engine exhaust manifold (13). Surplus exhaust gas is passed to a second turbine (17) which drives an electric generator (18) for generating power to energize auxiliary equipment such as an electric motor (20). The loading and unloading of the generator is controlled by sensor and switch means (25, 19) in response to torque output demands, to thereby reduce the pressure ratio over the second turbine with consequent increase in back pressure and thus increase the pressure ratio over the first turbine with consequent boosting of the supercharging capacity of the compressor upon demand for increased torque output of the engine. Conversely, the pressure ratio over the first turbine is decreased and the pressure ratio over the second turbine is increased at low torque output demand, such as high engine speed, to thereby boost the generating capacity of the generator.

Combustion engine system

A drive system for a group of brushless A.C. motors (15) which have mutually different working characteristics, for example mutually different voltages or frequencies, and which are arranged to be supplied with electric energy from a static converter (4). The system is characterized in that all motors (15) are arranged to be connected electrically, one at a time, to one and the same converter, and in that an identifying means (10, 13) which is individual to each motor is arranged to be connected to a control input (8, 9) on the converter in order to regulate the converter so that it generates electric energy with the necessary supply parameters to the motor. The invention also covers a hand-tool to be used in the system.

Drive system for A.C. motors

An electrically driven hammer machine comprising a driving piston (103) and a hammer piston (104) driven by the driving piston via a pressure gas cushion (106). The driving piston is driven by a brushless alternating current motor (101) via a crank mechanism (105). A solid state inverter (107) in the power supply conduit (102) supplies power of variable amplitude and frequency to the motor.

Electrically driven hammer machine

A method and a device for controlling a brushless alternating current motor (23) driven by an inverter (31-36) connected to a direct current supply (24,25). The direct current supplied to the inverter is sensed. The signal is passed through a peak detector (41) to a regulator (45), which decreases its frequency controlling output signal if the peak value input signal exceeds a predetermined value. A control signal corresponding to the torque demand of the motor is also produced. This signal controls the voltage supplied to the motor. Negative pulses at the turning off of the inverter switches are also sensed and used for controlling the degree of magnetization of the motor.

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for driving the impeller (5) in a turbo-type liquid pump operating at relatively low power and relatively high delivery head by means of an a.c. motor (2). The invention is mainly characterized in that the motor (2) is driven from a static inverter (6) which operates at an operating frequency of 100-1000 Hz. This enables high specific speed impellers to be used, and therewith provides a considerable increase in the efficiency and capacity of the pump at unchanged motor sizes.

A compressor drive system for controlling the gas pressure in a pressure gas volume (106) connected to the compressor (101). A brushless alternating current motor (23) is directly coupled to the compressor, which is driven with the same speed as the motor. The pressure in the gas volume (106) is sensed by pressure sensing means (109) connected to a converter (114). The converter simultaneously changes the amplitude and frequency of the drive voltage supplied to the motor (23). This is done in response to pressure changes in volume (106). The motor is stopped if the pressure exceeds a preset maximum value. A pressure gas container (104) is depressurized at motor stop to allow restarting without counter pressure on the compressor. Means (44) for controlling the amplitude and frequency of the drive voltage is provided so that the normal speed maximum load current is never exceeded during motor start.

Compressor drive system

The invention relates to a washing machine which comprises a casing (1) having a washing-liquid container (2) and a cylindrical washing drum (3) rotatably arranged in the container. The washing drum is driven by a single, brushless a.c.motor, to which energy is supplied from an inverter (41), so that the washing machine may be driven at a desired, alternative number of revolutions/min, which are preprogrammed and within an extended range of revolutions/min.
