A fluid condition monitoring device includes a sensing assembly including a sensor and a transducer, the sensor to sense a property of the fluid and the transducer to apply a test signal to the fluid and receive a return signal from the fluid; a control assembly coupled to the sensing assembly, the control assembly including a controller and an input/output interface, the controller interfacing with the transducer to generate fluid condition information in response to the return signal; and an interface assembly coupled to the control assembly, the interface assembly including a connection to the input/output interface to transmit the fluid condition information to an external system.

Disclosed are systems and methods for prognostic health management (PHM) of electronic systems. Such systems and methods present challenges traditionally viewed as either insurmountable or otherwise not worth the cost of pursuit. The systems and methods are directed to the health monitoring and failure prediction of electronic systems, including the diagnostic methods employed to assess current health state and prognostic methods for the prediction of electronic system failures and remaining useful life. The disclosed methodologies include three techniques: (1) use of existing electronic systems data (circuit as a sensor); (2) use of available external measurements as condition indicators and degradation assessor; and (3) performance assessment metrics derived from available external measurements.

Systems and methods for predicting failure of electronic systems and assessing level of degradation and remaining useful life

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for an electrochemical impedance measurement, and in particular circuitry and components employed for such measurements. The system employs an injected broadband AC signal to produce an associated response signal. The subsequent analysis of injected and response signals, considering both magnitude and phase, gives broadband impedance and therefore fluid characteristic information. An embodiment described is relative to a smart oil sensor system suitable for sensing, analyzing and reporting the condition of oil or other liquids used in equipment and machinery.
