A fastening system has a conditioner clamp and a penetrating fastener. The conditioner clamp has an upper assembly and a lower assembly attachable together to define a conductor cavity therebetween. At least one threaded opening provides ingress into the conductor cavity. The penetrating fastener is extendable through the at least one threaded opening. The penetrating fastener has a threaded bolt and a penetrating portion with a proximal end at a second end region of the threaded bolt and a distal end spaced therefrom. The penetrating portion has a frustoconical configuration terminating at a tip portion. The tip portion is configured to penetrate into a conductor positioned within the conductor cavity.

Fastening system for an electrical transmission line repair device

A torque limiting fastener comprises a body. The body defines a first body portion and a second body portion that extend from a first end of the body to a second end of the body. The body comprises an inner surface extending from the first end of the body to the second end of the body. The body further comprises an outer surface extending from the first end of the body to the second end of the body. The body yet further comprises an inner threadform extending substantially along a length of the inner surface of the second body portion and a controlled break region. The controlled break region is disposed at an intersection of the first body portion and the second body portion. The controlled break region includes an outer surface break point formed into the outer surface and an inner surface break point formed into the inner surface.

Torque limiting fastener

A tangent suspension bracket configured for coupling to at least one of a suspension insulator and a conductor clamp assembly. The tangent suspension bracket further includes a central cap, a first end attachment structure and a second end attachment structure. The central cap structure includes an upper wall having an opening and a depending skirt, together defining a downwardly opening cavity. The opening is structurally configured to allow the passage of a portion of one of the suspension insulator and the conductor clamp assembly while maintaining a portion within the downwardly opening cavity, so as to secure the central cap structure to one of the suspension insulator and the conductor clamp assembly. The first end attachment assembly extends from the central cap and the second end attachment structure extends from the central cap in the opposite direction.

Tangent suspension accessory assembly and accessory bracket therefor

An electrical transmission line repair device including a first conductor clamp, a second conductor clamp and at least one tie rail extending between the first and second conductor clamps in a spaced apart orientation. The first conductor clamp including a lower assembly and an upper assembly. The lower assembly and the upper assembly are slidably engageable with each other so as to define a conductor cavity extending therealong. Clamping fasteners are configured to extend through openings in the upper assembly so as to be threadable toward and away from the conductor contact region of the lower assembly within the conductor cavity.

Electrical transmission line repair device

An electrical transmission line repair apparatus comprising a first end section, a second end section and a link member. The first and second end sections are spaced apart from each other and each configured to receive and releasably retain a conductor thereacross. The link member is positioned on one side of the first and second end sections, so that the first and second end sections can be coupled to a conductor on either side of a link member, suspension or other device from below, and without decoupling or de-energizing the transmission line. In addition, the installation of the same and the clamping can be achieved from below the conductor upon positioning. That is, the link member or members do not straddle the transmission line, requiring dismantling of the dead end configuration, or the disassembly of the link member from the first and second end section.

Electrical transmission line repair apparatus

A torque limiting fastener comprising a body. The body includes a threadform, an inner bore and a controlled break region. The body defines an elongated body extending from a first end to a second end, and the body includes an outer surface. The threadform extends at least partially between the first end and the second end along the outer surface. The inner bore extends from the second end at least partially toward the first end of the body. The controlled break region is positioned between the inner bore and the outer surface. The controlled break region includes an outer surface break point formed into the outer surface and an inner surface break point formed into the inner bore. The outer surface break point and the inner surface break point defining a shear plane therebetween.

Torque limiting set screw

A fastener for a connector in an electrical coupling including a threaded bolt, a keeper member and a biasing member. The keeper member having a base and a distal member spaced apart from each other and a collapsible portion coupling the base and the distal member to each other in electrical communication. The second end of the threaded bolt extends to the base and is in electrical communication therewith. The distal member has a conductor contact surface. The biasing member includes an inner washer, an outer washer, and a Belleville washer positioned therebetween. The biasing member is insertable between the base and the distal member so that the inner washer is positioned between the base and the Belleville washer and the outer washer is positioned between the Belleville washer and the distal member. The collapsible portion provides an electrical shunt around the biasing member.

Fastener for a connector in an electrical coupling

A universal clamp assembly having a support fitting with arms and a threaded bolt mounted to the arms allowing rotation about a longitudinal axis of the bolt. The bolt is retained against axial movement along the longitudinal axis. A clamp member is rotatably mounted on the bolt between the arms for rotation of the clamp member relative to the support fitting about the longitudinal axis. The clamp member is restrained against axial movement relative to the support fitting and the bolt along the longitudinal axis. The clamp includes a guide opening through which the bolt extends. A keeper is threadedly mounted on the bolt and partially received in the guide opening. The keeper slides in the guide opening along the longitudinal axis and is restrained against rotation about the longitudinal axis of the bolt relative to the clamp member. The keeper is rotatable about the longitudinal axis concurrently with the clamp member.

Universal clamp

A single bolt deadend anchor clamp for gripping a cable includes a body having a clevis assembly at a first end and a sagging eye at an opposing second end. A middle body extends between the first and second ends, and includes a reinforcing rib. A pocket is adjacent the reinforcing rib for receiving a keeper inserted above the pocket. A biasing member is disposed between the pocket and the keeper for counterbalancing a load between the keeper and the retaining groove. The biasing member is preferably a spring including a cross bar and two sets of coils.

Single bolt deadend anchor clamp

A unitized core grip for an electrical connector includes a longitudinal shaft, a plurality of lobes connected by a plurality of web members, a generally triangular center bore, and a plurality of axial grooves. The core grip is defined by a plurality of longitudinally extending, circumferentially spaced lobes, spaced about a longitudinal axis. The plurality of web members are spaced between and connecting the lobes. The generally triangular center bore is defined by the interior surfaces of the lobes and the web members, prior to compression for receiving a cable.

Energy directing unitized core grip for electrical connector

A compression connector assembly for securing a cable has a bushing insert and a gripping sleeve. The bushing insert includes a tubular bore, an exterior surface, a conductor receiving end, and a conductor engagement end. The gripping sleeve has an inner recess and an outer surface, and is adjacent to the conductor engagement end. The tubular bore and the inner recess are substantially coaxial, defining a cable securing passageway.

Method of making a compression connector assembly

An electrical connector for clamping securely onto a threaded shaft includes a transformer bar, a connector body, a clamping component, and at least two columns for receiving streetlight taps. The transformer bar has a plurality of conductor bores, a distal end, and a bar top. The connector body is at the distal end and has first and second bosses at the bar top and first and second clamping sides. The clamping component is pivotally mounted by an attachment link to be selectively located adjacent one of the first and second clamping sides. Two columns are located adjacent the distal end of the transformer bar, protruding away from the transformer bar, one on each side, for supporting a streetlight tap and a redundant ground close to the connector body and a streetlight tap opposite the distal end.
