A clamp for cylindrical objects uses a plurality of split-rings, each of which has a first half-ring and a second half-ring. Each first half-ring is hingedly coupled to a corresponding second half-ring at a hinge point. Means, coupled to each first half-ring at a distance from the hinge point, are coupled to a control assembly. The control assembly is operated to apply one of a pulling force to each first half-ring to simultaneously open each of the split-rings, or a pushing force to each first half-ring to simultaneously close each of the split-rings.

An apparatus and method for detecting acoustic signals from a plurality of acoustic signal sensors. The apparatus comprises a plurality of acoustic signal detection channels. Each channel has an input for receiving acoustic signals from a corresponding acoustic signal sensor and includes circuitry for amplifying the received acoustic signals, removing the D.C. components from the amplified acoustic signals and removing all frequency components from the amplified acoustic signals which are above a predetermined frequency. The apparatus further comprises a circuitry for summing all of the acoustic signals outputted from the acoustic signal detection channels to form a single acoustic signal and for converting the single acoustic signal into a differential signal if at least one acoustic signal sensor senses an acoustic signal and its corresponding acoustic signal detection channel outputs an acoustic signal.

Method and apparatus for detecting acoustic signals from a plurality of acoustic signal sensors

The present invention is an apparatus for launching or retrieving a vessel. This apparatus includes a first vertical member having a top and a bottom end. A lower vessel engagement hook is positioned at the lower end of the vertical member. A second vertical member is positioned in parallel spaced relation to the first vertical member. An upper vessel engagement structure is positioned at the lower end of the second vertical member in spaced opposed relation to the lower vehicle engagement hook. The second vertical member moves axially upwardly and downwardly to allow for engagement with the vessel.

REMUS positive lock securing apparatus

A real-time data acquisition system for a remote, unmanned underwater vehe includes an array of sensors within the vehicle which gather data from the environment surrounding the vehicle. The sensor data is digitized and stored in an imbedded computer on the unmanned vehicle. To display the data, the imbedded computer transfers the digital data over a local area network connection to a second computer aboard a mother ship. The second computer converts the digital data back to analog data for display. The data can also be analyzed and processed depending on test requirements. To test the unmanned vehicle performance, the vehicle can be operated adjacent the mother ship with the local area network connection in place. In this mode, the imbedded computer transfers the digital data to the second computer as the data is being stored in the imbedded computer.
