A frequency compensation circuit determines a target calibration count of a fixed capacitor coupled to a processing device. The frequency compensation circuit identifies a current calibration count of the fixed capacitor. The frequency compensation circuit determines that the current calibration count satisfies a threshold criterion associated with the target calibration count. In response to determining that the current calibration count satisfies the threshold criterion, the frequency compensation circuit adjusts a frequency of an internal oscillator of the processing device based on the current calibration count and the target calibration count.

Oscillator frequency compensation with a fixed capacitor

Systems, apparatus, and methods measure a signal provided by a capacitance sensor, the signal indicative of a presence of an object proximate to the capacitance sensor. Responsive to measuring the signal, embodiments access control information in a memory to determine whether the signal is associated with a first qualifying event of the control information. Responsive to determining that the signal is associated with the first qualifying event, embodiments control a power consumption of a communication device.

Low-power touch button sensing system

Systems and methods receive multiple of trigger signals and responsive to each trigger signal transition a sensing block from operating in a first mode to operating in a second mode by turning on power to one or more portions of the sensing block. Operating in the second mode includes performing multiple sensor scans during multiple sensing periods of a monitoring period. Based on performing a first scan during a first sensing period, systems and methods transition from operating the sensing block in the second mode to operating the sensing block in the first mode by turning off the power to the one or more portions of the sensing block. Based on performing a second scan during a second sensing period, of the plurality of sensing periods, systems and methods transition a processing module from operating in a first processing mode to operating in a second processing mode.

A method for operating a sensing system includes receiving, from a processing device, control information for configuring a capacitance sensing circuit, configuring the capacitance sensing circuit with the control information in response to receiving the control information, and controlling power consumption of the processing device based on the control information and based on a capacitance measured by the capacitance sensing circuit.

Disclosed herein are system, methods, and apparatus for low power capacitive sensors. Apparatus may include a timing block configured to generate a repetitive trigger signal having a first frequency, and further configured to generate a clock signal having a second frequency. Apparatus may also include a sensing block coupled with the timing block and configured to, in response to the repetitive trigger signal, detect a change in capacitance associated with an object proximate to a capacitive sensor button by applying an excitation signal to the capacitive sensor button during a measurement period. Apparatus further include a wake logic block coupled with the sensing block and configured to transition a processing unit from a first power consumption state to a second power consumption state in response to the sensing block detecting the change in capacitance associated with the object proximate to the capacitive sensor button.

An integrated circuit (IC) device can include a plurality of analog blocks, including at least one fixed function analog circuit, a plurality of reconfigurable analog circuit blocks, at least one analog routing block reconfigurable to provide signal paths between any of the analog blocks; and a digital section comprising digital circuits; wherein each analog block includes dedicated of signal lines coupled to the at least one analog routing block.

Integrated circuit device with programmable analog subsystem

A capacitance sensing circuit receives an application of a power supply. The capacitance sensing circuit controls a switch circuit to connect the power supply to a processing device responsive to the application of the power supply. The capacitance sensing circuit receives, via a control interface and from the processing device, control information to configure the capacitance sensing circuit. The capacitance sensing circuit disconnects the power supply from the processing device subsequent to receiving the control information.

An integrated circuit (IC) device can include a plurality of analog blocks, including at least one fixed function analog circuit, and at least one reconfigurable analog circuit block selected from: a continuous time (CT) block comprising a plurality of reconfigurable amplifier circuits and a discrete time block comprising amplifiers with a reconfigurable switch network; an analog multiplexer (MUX) configured to selectively connect any of a plurality of input/outputs (I/Os) of the IC device to the analog blocks, the analog MUX including at least one low noise signal path pair having a lower resistance than other signal paths of the analog MUX; at least one analog routing block reconfigurable to provide signal paths between any of the analog blocks; a digital section comprising digital circuits; and a processor interface coupled to the analog blocks.

A capacitance sensing module includes a timer circuit configured to generate a repetitive trigger signal, a low power oscillator block configured to generate a clock signal having a higher frequency than the repetitive trigger signal, a sensing block coupled with the timer circuit and the oscillator block and configured to, in response to the repetitive trigger signal, detect a presence of a conductive object at a capacitive sensor button by applying an excitation signal based on the clock signal to the capacitive sensor button, and a wake logic block coupled with the sensing block and configured to transition a processing unit from a low power consumption state to a high power consumption state in response to the sensing block detecting the presence of the conductive object at the capacitive sensor button.

Apparatuses and methods of mutual-capacitance sensing with a capacitance-sensing circuit, such as a self-capacitance sensing device (CSD). One apparatus includes an input node coupled to a capacitance sense pin to couple to a first electrode of a sense array, a transmit (TX) signal generation circuit to generate a TX signal to drive a second electrode of the sense array, logic circuitry coupled to the TX signal generation circuit and the input node. The logic circuitry is configured to selectively couple a first capacitor to the input node and a second capacitor to the input node timed with the TX signal. The apparatus further includes an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) coupled to receive a receive (RX) signal from the input node and to convert the RX signal into a digital value, the digital value representing a mutual capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode.
