A missile launcher is provided for ship integration. In particular, the missile launcher affords a simple and safe integration onto a surface, such as a deck of a naval vessel, for example. The missile launcher includes a box launcher to house and launch the missiles and a pedestal to support and orient the box launcher. The box launcher provides protection from the natural environment as well as protection from other threats to the system. The box launcher is designed to enable missiles not normally designed for use in a harsh environment to be used in such an environment. The missile launcher also enables loading of missiles while at sea. The missile launcher can be integrated into naval vessels, land vehicles, fixed locations and other installations, as needed.

Missile launcher system for reload at sea

A mobile terrestrial vertical missile launch system is provided for relocatable ballistic missile deployment. The system is connectable to a transport truck and includes a trailer, a pivotable canister, a plurality of stabilizing legs, and an equipment module. The trailer has a hitch for connecting to the truck, a base for supporting wheels for road travel, and a flatbed platform having a transverse hinge. The canister contains launcher for at least one missile and is configurable by rotation at the hinge for disposal in either a longitudinal position for stowage or an erected position for deployment. The stabilizing legs are disposed along a periphery of the trailer. The legs can be disposed in one of an elevated position for stowage and a retarded position for ground engagement. The equipment container supplies electrical power, environmental conditioning, tracking, communication and control for the missile.

Mobile vertical missile launcher

A device is provided for recording transverse acceleration of a projectile longitudinally traveling along a barrel. Within the projectile, the device includes a base, a cantilever beam, a stylus and a medium. The beam longitudinally extends at a first end from the base. The stylus connects to a second end of the beam, being longitudinally opposite from the first end. The medium is rigidly fixed relative to the base and indicates transverse deflection extent of the second end onto the medium. The transverse deflection extent can be vertically perpendicular to the beam, and the stylus can permit deflection that is horizontally perpendicular to the beam. A method is provided for recording transverse acceleration of a projectile longitudinally traveling along a barrel that includes providing a base within the projectile, suspending a cantilever beam longitudinally within the projectile from the base from a first end of the beam, fixing a medium relative to the base, and connecting a stylus to a second end of said beam, the second end being opposite from the first end, the stylus indicating transverse deflection extent of the second end onto the medium.

The beam method and the 'slice' method for ship modeling are melded. The method uses a detailed ship model in the ship section immediately surrounding the system or equipment under study and a beam model for the portions of the ship away from the detailed ship section. This combined method has the advantage of providing a detailed section of the ship in the area of interest which allows for good system and equipment level modeling, and a course beam model of the ship everywhere else, which, in turn, allows for the ships mass and stiffness and hence frequency spectrum to be accurately represented.
