A cable gland () comprising: an entry component () sized to fit through an orifice in a surface and having a flange () arranged to bear against the surface around the orifice; a middle component () in threaded engagement with the entry component (); and a back component () in threaded engagement with the middle component (), the cable gland () defining a through bore () for a cable through the entry component (), the middle component () and the back component (); the cable gland () further comprising a sealing body () which is arranged to provide a seal in at least two positions from the group comprising: between the surface and the flange () of the entry component () (typically acting as a ingress protection washer); between the cable and the back component () (typically acting as an ingress protection seal); between the back component () and the middle component () (typically acting as a shroud); and between the middle component () and the entry component () (typically acting as a deluge boot).

A sleeve () arranged to be slidably received within a passage () defined in a body of a cable gland (), the sleeve () arranged to receive a settable sealing material for forming a seal to a cable passing through the sleeve, wherein the sleeve () comprises: an annular side wall () extending along an axial length and having a first end and a second end; and an end wall () capping the first end of the annular side wall (), in which the annular side wall () and the end wall () define a void () within them into which settable sealing material can be received.

A cable gland sealing member comprising: a sleeve () arranged to be slidably received within a passage () defined in a body () of a cable gland, the sleeve () arranged to receive a settable sealing material for forming a seal to a cable passing through the sleeve, wherein the sleeve () is defined by an annular side wall extending along an axial length; wherein an outer surface () of the sleeve () includes a tapered portion () such that the external diameter of the sleeve () widens in the tapered portion (); and wherein the outer surface () of the sleeve () is arranged to form a seal with the cable gland body (). Cable gland

A battery assembly for a lighting fixture is provided. The battery assembly includes a battery unit comprising a battery unit housing and a first set of conductive pins. The battery unit housing is configured to accommodate one or more batteries configured to power one or more light sources of the lighting fixture. The first set of conductive pins are in electrical communication with the batteries. The battery assembly includes a battery interface comprising a battery interface housing and a second set of conductive pins. The battery interface housing is configured to accommodate the battery unit housing. The second set of conductive pins are coupled to the light source(s) so that the batteries power the light source(s) when the first set of conductive pins contact the second set of conductive pins. In some implementations, the battery unit can be inserted into the battery interface while the lighting fixture is energized.

A gland assembly includes a gland body () and a cap nut () connected by screw threads (). A cable holding device () is received within the cap nut () and has a plurality of fingers () configured to apply a gripping force to a cable () extending through the gland assembly in response to a torque applied to the cap nut (). The fingers () are configured to increase the gripping force on the cable () in response to a linear force applied to the elongate member.

A diaphragm seal () for a cable gland (FIG.) has concentric inner () and outer () cylindrical seal walls connected at one end by a diaphragm () to define a cavity (). The cavity () contains a plurality of support webs () that extend between the inner () and outer () seal walls. The webs () are provided on an exit side of the seal () and deform to assist insertion of the cable through the seal () from an entry side of the seal (). The webs () resist inversion of the seal () when the pressure on the exit side is higher than the pressure on the entry side to create a pressure differential across the diaphragm ().
