A portable infant cushion () includes a base () having a top surface () for engaging the body of an infant placed onto the top surface and for transferring the weight of the infant. The top surface () includes a head support portion () non-releasably attached to the base () and having a head engaging surface elevated relative to the base for supporting the head of the infant. The top surface () includes a body support portion () connected to the base () which is longitudinally spaced from the head support () and is for supporting the body of an infant. A side wall () extends peripherally around the base () and having an elevated surface elevated higher than the head support (). The cushion () includes a blanket () for covering the infant adapted to be placed on the top surface (). The blanket () has at least a portion secured to the side wall (). The blanket () is extensible over the top surface () without extending over the head support portion ().

Portable infant cushion

A child's car seat insert is for preventing slouching of a child adapted to be placed on the insert in a car seat in a travel position. The insert includes a bed portion having a top surface for receiving the child and for engaging at least the back of the child. The insert also includes a support for supporting the child on the top surface and for minimizing slouching of the child in the car seat. The insert also includes a pocket located in the bed portion for releasably receiving the support.

An insert for a child's car seat comprising a cushioning positioner received within a child's car seat such that the cushioning positioner secures a child of any size in the car seat in a physiologically and physically beneficial orientation and protects the child from injury due to the operation of the car. The insert comprises a base with a child placement area therein and a restraint having a pivot and a securing end. The restraint is pivotally attached to the base at the pivot such that when the restraint is pivoted away from the base, a child can be placed into the child placement area and when the restraint is pivoted toward the base it releasably attaches at the securing end to the base.

A gravity cup for drinking fluids, comprising a container defined by sides connected to a base on one end and forming an opening at the other end through which fluid is placed and contained therein, the container having an outlet located at the base such that gravity forces the fluid through the outlet; a valve being ball-shaped and having a passage therethrough in rotationally attached to the container such that rotating the valve regulates the flow of fluid out of the container through the outlet; the valve being operable from fully opened, through partially opened, through fully closed; position an adjustable tube straw connected at its proximal end to the valve such that fluid flowing through the valve flows through the adjustable tube straw to a user for drinking at its distal end, and such that manipulating the adjustable tube straw rotates the ball thereby operating the valve and regulating the rate of flow of fluid from the container through the passage and the adjustable tube straw to the user.

A combination baby bottle and solid food compartment with spoon is adapted for use with a small child in the range of 3 months to 41/2 years of age. The bottle is uniquely shaped for easy gripping by the child and is divided into multiple compartments for holding separate liquids. The compartments are accessed through a valve arrangement, and the liquids can be dispensed by means of a sipper, straws or a nipple. The nipple is adapted to simulate a woman's breast, with the texture of the surface area of the nipple extension and surrounding the extension having a raspberry effect. The food compartment fits on the bottom of the bottle in an inverted position to provide a wide base for the combination. The handle of the spoon is shaped to fit the contour of the bottle to which it is secured by a clip. The spoon is uniquely shaped to fit the child's mouth or oral cavity.

A machine tool (100) has a spindle (101) and a turret or toolholder (124) which are disposed at the front of a base (134).A workpiece (W) is rotated by the spindle (101). The turret (124) is movable toward and away from the workpiece (W) along a path which has vertical and horizontal components. A conveyor assembly (200) is operable to move workpieces between the rear of the base (134) and the spindle (101) along a path (A) which extends through a plane (E) which contains the axis (C) of rotation of the spindle. The plane (E) is parallel to vertical and horizontal components of movement of the turret (123). An alternative embodiment (100a) of the machine tool includes a pair of spindles (101a, 301) and a pair of turrets (124a, 324) disposed at the front of a base (134a, 334). Workpieces (W9, W10) are moved two at a time between the rear of the base (134a, 334 ) and the two spindles (101a, 301) along a path which extends through a plane which contains the axes (C, J) of rotation of the spindles (101a, 301). A pair of chip conveyors (129a, 329) transport chips in opposite directions from the spindles (101a, 301).

An apparatus for use in machining a workpiece includes a housing (102) which is operable between a closed condition enclosing a chuck (101) and an open condition. When the housing (102) is in the open condition, an opening (117) extends across the top of the housing and down opposite sides of the housing to provide access to the chuck (101) from both sides of the housing. A workpiece transfer assembly (200) has a downwardly extending structure (204) which is movable along a path (A) extending through the housing (102) when the housing is in the open condition. This enables the transfer structure (200) to move unfinished workpieces (W) to the chuck (101) from one side of the housing and to move finished workpieces from the chuck to the opposite side of the housing. The transfer structure is supported on tracks (201) which extend above the housing.

An improved machine tool includes a chip conveyor assembly which includes a conveyor and a coolant tank. The chip conveyor assembly is movable between a closed or operating position and an open or exposed position. In the closed position, the chip conveyor assembly is disposed directly beneath a work area so that chips fall onto the conveyor. The chips are transported through an opening at one end of the machine tool to a discharge area where the chips are deposited in a suitable receptacle. To facilitate maintenance of the chip conveyor assembly, the entire chip conveyor assembly is movable through an opening in the front of the machine tool to an open position in which the components of the conveyor are accessible.

Machine tool

A turning machine (10) having a tool changer (70) capable of automatically changing O.D. and I.D. tools. A tool block system which supports the various tools is utilized. The tool changer (70) has a pair of fingers (74) disposed at the end of a cross arm (72). Fingers (74) are independently movable for engaging O.D. tooling blocks (32) and I.D. tooling blocks (33). Cross arm (72) is indexable to positions for installing the gripped tooling blocks (32,33) onto tool turret (16) or a tool storage magazine (60). A gauge mechanism (80) which pivots a touch probe (82) into the machine tool cutting plane is provided for accurately locating the position of various cutting tools. Offset of the tool cutting point from denominal position is compensated for software of the machine tool controller (22). Probe (82) can also be used in conjunction with another probe supported from turrets (16) for inprocess part gauging.

An improved machine tool includes a one piece, as cast base having a spindle drive motor mounting section, a wayblock mounting section, a tailstock mounting section and a tank for receiving coolant. The wayblock mounting section includes a basin having a rim and a plurality of upwardly extending projections in a central portion of the basin. Downwardly extending projections on a substantially as cast wayblock extend into the basin. A body of cast in situ material is disposed in the space between as cast surface areas on the upwardly extending base projections and as cast surface areas on the downwardly extending wayblock projections to hold the wayblock against movement relative to the base. A one piece as cast headstock has downwardly extending projections which are received in recesses formed in the wayblock. A second cast in situ body of material is disposed between surfaces on the headstock and the wayblock to hold the headstock against movement relative to the wayblock. An as cast tailstock support bar extends across a portion of the base which forms a coolant tank. Cast in situ bodies of material are formed between projections from the tailstock support bar and side surfaces of recesses in the base to hold the tailstock support bar against movement relative to the base. A chip conveyor assembly extends across the coolant tank to a location adjacent the headstock.
