The dispersion of a solid material in a fluid is improved by modifying the density of the fluid to match the density of the solid material. The method of the present invention comprises the addition of about 1 to 25 weight percent of a saturated oligomer of at least one halocarbon to a slurry of microencapsulated phase change materials in a poly-alpha-olefin fluid to improve the dispersion of the microencapsulated materials in the fluid.

Perfluoroalkylether (PFAE) tertiary mono- and poly-alcohols of the general structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 represent perfluoroalkyl groups having from one to fifty carbon atoms or PFAE groups having 2-50 carbon atoms and 1-49 oxygen atoms; R.sup.2 represents a PFPAE group having 3-50 carbon atoms and 1-48 oxygen atoms; A represents perfluoroalkylene groups containing 2-30 carbon atoms or perfluoroalkyleneether groups having 2-30 carbon atoms and 1-29 oxygen atoms; and n is an integer having a value ranging from zero to ten; and wherein the alcohol contains at least 12 carbon atoms per molecule. The perfluoroalkylether (PFAE) tertiary mono- and poly-alcohols are mixed with perfluoropolyalkylether fluids in an amount ranging from 0.01 to 1.00 weight percent to provide fluids having improved antiwear properties.

Stability enhancing additives of the formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.f is a perfluoroalkyl group having 1 to 15 carbon atoms and n has a value of 1 to 6, for perfluoropolyalkylether fluids. These additives are incorporated into perfluoropolyalkylether fluids in an amount ranging from about 0.01 to 3 weight percent.

Stability additive for perfluoropolyalkylethers

A high temperature, nonflammable working fluid consisting essentially of about 0.1 to 5.0 w/o of a rust-/corrosion-inhibitor and about 0.01 to 1.0 w/o of a lubricity additive, balance a chlorotrifluoroethylene oligomer base oil, wherein the lubricity additive is a sulfonamide having the formula C.sub.8 F.sub.17 SO.sub.2 N(C.sub.2 H.sub.5)CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n H, wherein n has a value of 0 to 15, and wherein the rust inhibitor comprises a blend of zinc dinonylnaphthalene sulfonate and a zinc salt of a high molecular weight succinate ester in a weight ratio of about 99:1 to 20:80.

Polysilahydrocarbons, such as tetrasilanes, are prepared by reaction of alkenyl organometallic compounds with alkyltrihalosilanes, followed by further reaction of the alkyltrialkenylsilane intermediates with trihalosilane and the subsequent substitution of the halogen atoms in the second intermediate by alkyl groups.
