Provided is a method and apparatus for applying a bail handle to a container. The applicator includes a pickup mandrel for picking up the bail handle to be applied to a container; a stationary mandrel for receiving the bail handle from the pickup mandrel, the stationary mandrel having an engaging surface which has a diameter larger than an inner diameter of the bail handle when picked up by the pickup mandrel; and an applicator mandrel for receiving the bail handle from the pickup mandrel, the applicator mandrel having an engaging surface which has a diameter equal to or smaller than the stationary mandrel.

A container and handle system includes a container including a flange and a top load strength in a range of less than 25 lbf. A handle includes at least one radially oriented tab movable to define a first diameter being greater than a diameter of the flange and configured to facilitate translation over the flange. The at least one tab is biased to a second diameter that is less than the flange diameter such that the at least one tab engages the flange to fix the handle with the container. Packaging products, containers, handles, tooling, applicators and methods are disclosed.

Container and handle system

Provided is a blow molded container including a bottom, four sidewalls extending upward from the bottom to a shoulder region, a neck disposed on the shoulder region and defining an opening at the top of the container, and vertical ribs extending from the shoulder region to the bottom along the sidewalls. The shoulder region includes shoulder ribs and a shoulder base portion, the shoulder ribs formed of should rib walls extending upward from the shoulder base portion and a shoulder rib top portion extending between shoulder rib walls to form an upper part of the shoulder ribs. Each shoulder rib extends from the neck to an upper part of a corresponding vertical rib to provide improved top load resistance at the top and neck of the container.

Large format container

A method for applying a handle to a container, including placing the handle on the neck of the container, supporting the container to prevent the container from collapsing, and moving the handle toward an end of the neck that contacts a body of the container. The neck includes a supporting rib to fix the handle to the container.

Apparatus for applying a handle to a container and method thereof

Polystyrene drainage beads having optimized shapes to provide increased specific gravity and void volume at a given bulk density. Expanded forms of such drainage beads may be used as a geosynthetic aggregate in pre-assembled drainage units. Such pre-assembled drainage units may be used as foundation drains, septic drainage fields, or for other applications.

A pre-assembled drainage line unit includes a flexible longitudinally extending perforated sleeve member and a loose aggregation of lightweight elements contained within the sleeve member. A pliable, water permeable barrier material extends along the sleeve member and overlies at least a portion of the aggregation to prevent the passage of solid materials, such as sand and dirt, into the aggregation.

Liquid drainage unit

A drainage system for delivering fluid from a source of fluid for absorption into the ground, comprises a trench, a pair of perforated drainage conduits extending longitudinally in said trench and laterally spaced from each other to define an open chamber therebetween. The conduits are connected at one end to the source for receiving fluid from the source and delivering fluid to the chamber. A longitudinally extending cover overlies said conduits and prevents soil from falling into the chamber. The cover includes side portions which engage the conduits and a center portion connected to the side portions and maintains the conduits in laterally spaced relationship. The cover also includes reinforcing arches extending between the side portions and the center portion to resist downward deflection of the cover under the weight of the top soil. Vent holes in the cover permit the system to breathe.

A composite package including a thin-walled plastic bottle mounted within an outer paperboard box. The plastic bottle has a pouring spout adjacent its front wall and an L-shaped hollow handle including a horizontal leg extending rearwardly to a downwardly extending vertical leg which communicates with the chamber within the bottle. The top flap assembly of the box has an access means which permits the horizontal leg to be gripped while the package is being handled and transported. The rear wall of the box has an access means which permits the vertical leg of the handle to be gripped while liquid is being poured from the bottle.

Composite container

A composite package for scoopable products comprising an outer rectangular paperboard box having vertical front, rear, and side walls and an upper foldable flap assembly connected to said vertical walls. An inner thin-walled plastic jar has a lower generally rectangular portion fitting within said box and an upper portion of slightly reduced cross-sectional size provided with a large open mouth. The lid is removably connected over said mouth and is normally covered by the flap assembly. The upper portion has wall sections spaced inwardly from opposed walls of the box to provide finger receiving spaces therebetween, and the opposed walls have finger receiving openings adjacent said spaces to facilitate handling of said box.
