A composite article comprises a first glass layer, a silicone layer, a second glass layer, and an organic layer. The silicone layer is disposed adjacent to the first glass layer. The silicone layer includes a cured silicone composition. The second glass layer is disposed adjacent to the silicone layer, spaced from and substantially parallel to the first glass layer. The organic layer is disposed adjacent to the second glass layer, spaced from and substantially parallel to the silicone layer. The organic layer includes a cured organic composition. A method of making a composite article including a first glass layer and a polymeric layer disposed adjacent to the first glass layer includes providing a dual-compartment chamber. The chamber includes a first compartment and a second compartment separated by a polymeric separator. The separator can be manipulated through pressure differentials between the compartments. Pressure is applied to at least one of the silicone layer and the first glass layer with the polymeric separator.

Composite article having excellent fire and impact resistance and method of making the same

A free standing film includes: i. a matrix layer having opposing surfaces, and ii. an array of nanorods, where the nanorods are oriented to pass through the matrix layer and protrude an average distance of at least 1 micrometer through one or both surfaces of the matrix layer. A method for preparing the free standing film includes (a) providing an array of nanorods on a substrate, optionally (b) infiltrating the array with a sacrificial layer, (c) infiltrating the array with a matrix layer, thereby producing an infiltrated array, optionally (d) removing the sacrificial layer without removing the matrix layer, when step (b) is present, and (e) removing the infiltrated array from the substrate to form the free standing film. The free standing film is useful as an optical filter, ACF, or TIM, depending on the type and density of nanorods selected.

A one-component room temperature vulcanizable silicone rubber composition comprising (A) silanol end-terminated polyorganosiloxane base polymer, (B) organotriacyloxysilane cross-linker, (C) polysiloxane-polyether copolymer rheology modifier, and (D) particulate silica. The rheology modifying agent is particularly useful for adjusting the viscosity and plateau stress of the silicone rubber compositions.

A curable organosiloxane-polyisobutylene composition comprising 20 to 87 weight percent of a polyisobutylene comprising at least 2 alkenyl groups per molecule, 0.4 to 70 weight percent of a polyorganosiloxane comprising at least 2 silicon-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule, 7 to 50 weight percent of a treated reinforcing silica filler, an amount sufficient to cure the composition of an organohydrogensiloxane crosslinker, and a platinum-group metal hydrosilation catalyst in an amount sufficient to effect curing of the composition. Cured elastomers prepared from the compositions can have improved resistance to gas and vapor permeability.
