A method for supporting a plurality of passwords in a communication network includes (a) receiving a client authentication message generated by a network client wishing to connect to the communication network, (b) computing a respective password authentication message for at least one password of a plurality of passwords stored in a password database to generate a set of one or more password authentication messages, each password of the plurality of passwords being a password for the communication network, (c) identifying a password authentication message of the set of one or more password authentication messages that matches the client authentication message, and (d) associating, with the network client, metadata corresponding to a password of the password database used to compute the password authentication message that matches the client authentication message.

A method for detecting aggressive signal transmission signatures in a wireless communication network is provided. The network includes at least one cooperative device, an access point, and at least one non-cooperative device. The method includes steps of generating a matrix of at least 8 bits configured to register each instance of at least one of a clear-to-send frame and a request-to-send frame transmitted between the at least one cooperative device and the access point during a specified duration, calculating a cumulative distribution function based on the registered instances within the generated matrix for a probability of the presence of an aggressive transmission signal by the at least one non-cooperative device within a measurable vicinity of one or more of the cooperative device and the access point, and determining the presence of the aggressive transmission signal based on the calculated cumulative distribution function being greater than a predetermined threshold.

A method for detecting aggressive signal transmission signatures in a wireless communication network is provided. The network includes at least one station, at least one access point, and at least one non-cooperative transmission source. The method includes steps of generating a matrix of each instance of request-to-send (RTS) messages received by the access point during a specified observation cycle, recording, in a memory of the access point, a number of cumulative RTS messages received from the station, calculating a cumulative distribution function (CDF), based on the recorded RTS message instances in the memory, for a probability of the presence of an aggressive transmission signal by the non-cooperative transmission source within a transmission range of the access point, and determining the presence of the aggressive transmission signal based on the calculated CDF being greater than a predetermined threshold.
