An induction sealing apparatus for inductively sealing a cover to a container where the shape of the cover and the shape of the container and the shape of the induction sealing apparatus are different from each other with the induction sealing apparatus directing the magnetic field proximate magnetic focusing members that direct the induction energy into specific regions of the cover so that so that the cover can be heated sufficiently to seal the cover to the container.

A system and method for on-the-go forming of a cover seal, on-the-go filling of a container and on-the-go induction sealing of a cover seal to a container with the system including a first transfer mechanism for picking empty containers from a conveyor, a traveling punch for on-the-go punching a cover seal from a roll of cover seal material, a rotateable head carrying a set of positionable filler spouts that fill the containers to a preselected level and a set of elevator platforms that raise and lower a container located thereon to facilitate low splash filling, a cam-and-spring system for maintaining a cover seal in pressure contact with a container, a cover-sealing apparatus for on-the-go inductive sealing of a cover seal to a container and a second transfer mechanism for returning the filled and sealed containers to the conveyor.

A door closer is provided of the cylinder/piston type wherein the closer is pivotably mounted to the door at a point adjacent to the piston rod end of the cylinder; a leaf type helper spring may be added between the cylinder and the door; said configuration being capable of providing increased closing force to the door as the door closes.

Pneumatic door closer with sustained closing force during closure

An apparatus for closing a door (14), the door closer assembly (10) preferably including a torsional spring unit (12) and a pneumatic check device (22). The torsional spring unit (12) can be attached to a door frame (16) through the use of a bracket (20) whereas the pneumatic check (22) can be attached to the door (14) through the use of a bracket (24). The amount of closing force generated by the torsional spring unit (12) can be adjusted by tensioning the torsional spring (26); locking the two housing components (34) and (46) together; repositioning the locked housing unit and the door (14); and releasing the housings (34) and (46) to 'restore' the formerly stored closing force at a new door position.

Deadbolt lock for hinged doors

A door latch (24) suitable for latching a door (20) to a door frame (22). The door latch (24), in a preferred embodiment, has an adjustable nose bolt (36); is 'panic unlatchable'; and can be operated by axial or rotational spindle forces supplied by, for example, a push button (48) or a door knob (120). The latch apparatus (24) preferably includes an adjustable nose bolt (36) which is adjustable in and out relative to the spindle (50). A trunnion (58) interposed between the inside handle (46) and the nose bolt (36) allows for relative adjustment of the nose bolt (36) with respect to the handle (46). In addition, a preferred embodiment of the latch apparatus (24) includes a lock lever (100) which forms a recess (108) suitable for capturing a spindle ear (110) to substantially prevent the spindle from operating the latch apparatus (24) to move the nose bolt (36) from a first position to a second position. Finally, a preferred latch apparatus (24) includes a spindle cam (78) which acts on inclined arms (82) of the handle (46).

Door latching apparatus

The subject of this patent application is a door assembly (10) having a knob (38) which, during shipment, is segregated from the rest of the assembly (10) for ease in packaging and storage. The invention includes a unique locking element (62) for securing the knob (38) to the door closure panel (12) when the panel (12) is at a location at which it is to be installed.

Segmented door opener

A locking bar (3) for use with a slideable panel (9), for example, sliding glass patio doors. The bar (3) includes first and second telescoping members (14 and 15) and a locking mechanism (16) at the point of attachment of the two members. The first member (14) is fixed against movement toward and away from the second member (15). The second member (15) is capable of telescoping movement relative to the first member (14). The locking bar further includes a bracket (19) for holding the second member (15) against movement relative to the slideable panel (9).

Container filling apparatus having a novel, multi-purpose nozzle including a valve designed to control injection of a liquid or semi-liquid product into the container and a further means for evacuating any froth or foam from the container while simultaneously sensing when the level of product within the container reaches the predetermined full level. The valve comprises a hollow cylindrical body defining a chamber for receiving froth and foam and discharging same through a drain port. Passing longitudinally through this body member is a tubular piston having a product tube portion extending therefrom and dimensioned to fit through the neck of the container to be filled. The product tube has an exit port near its distal end and surrounding the product tube is a combination venting and level sensing tube. The space between the outside of the product tube and the inside of the venting/level sensing tube communicates with the froth/foam receiving chamber in the valve body. Means are provided for coupling this same clearance space to a fluidic logic controller. When a container to be filled is positioned with the coaxial tube arrangement entering the filling neck thereof, the exit port zone of the product tube is extended outwardly from the distal end of the venting/level sensing tube, thereby unblocking the exit ports allowing the liquid product to flow into the container. As froth or foam flows up the venting/level sensing tube to the drain chamber, the pressure in this tube is continuously sensed. When the product level reaches the open end of the venting/sensing tube, a sudden pressure change is detected which triggers the fluidic control unit, causing the tubular piston to be retracted, terminating the product flow.
