The present disclosure provides humanized antibodies and antigen-binding fragments thereof that specifically bind to SFRP2 and compositions comprising such humanized antibodies or antigen-binding fragments thereof. In some aspects, the humanized antibodies or antigen-binding fragments can be used to treat diseases or conditions associated with increased SFRP2, such as cancer. In some aspects, the antibodies or antigen-binding fragments can be used to treat osteosarcoma.

Compositions and methods comprising SFRP2 antagonists

The described invention provides a method for treating myocardial infarction (MI) in a subject comprising administering to the subject a therapeutic amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a polypeptide of amino sequence YARAAARQARAKALARQLGVAA (SEQ ID NO: 1) or a functional equivalent thereof made from a fusion between a first polypeptide that is a cell permeable protein (CPP) selected from the group consisting of a polypeptide of amino acid sequence YARAAARQARA (SEQ ID NO: 2), WLRRIKAWLRRIKA (SEQ ID NO: 21), WLRRIKA (SEQ ID NO: 22), YGRKKRRQRRR (SEQ ID NO: 23), FAKLAARLYR (SEQ ID NO: 25), and KAFAKLAARLYR (SEQ ID NO: 26), and a second polypeptide that is a therapeutic domain (TD), and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Inhibition of cardiac fibrosis in myocardial infarction

Compositions and methods for targeted delivery to and detection of sites of neovascular growth, including tumor vasculature, are provided. Compositions include polypeptides conjugated to or complexed with a bioactive compound, wherein the polypeptide is capable of binding to an OEC or a circulating progenitor thereof. Methods for identifying additional polypeptides with the same binding characteristics are further provided. Methods for targeted delivery of a bioactive compound to a site of neovascular growth are provided in which polypeptides capable of binding OECs or progenitors thereof are conjugated to or complexed with the bioactive compound and administered to a subject in need thereof. Methods for detecting neovascular growth are also provided, wherein the polypeptides conjugated to or complexed with a detectable label are administered to a subject and the label is detected.

Methods and compositions for targeting sites of neovascular growth

The present invention relates to the identification of polynucleotides and polypeptides having increased expression in tumor blood vessels. The invention further relates to the use of the identified polynucleotides and polypeptides, and inhibitors of the polynucleotides and polypeptides, in the regulation of angiogenesis and the diagnosis and treatment of angiogenesis-related diseases such as cancer.

Targets for regulation of angiogenesis

Provided herein are compositions and methods for binding outgrowth endothelial cells (OEC). The compositions consist of peptide ligands capable of binding OEC with high affinity and specificity. The compositions of the invention include peptides set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1-38 and variants and derivatives thereof. Compositions also include the nucleotide sequences encoding the peptides of the invention. The compositions find use in methods for the isolation of OEC and for the recruitment and retention of OEC to sites of therapeutic interest. Methods for the identification and isolation of other peptides capable of binding OEC are also provided.

Peptides specific for human blood outgrowth endothelial cells

Provided herein are methods for treating a subject having or at risk for an angiogenesis-related disorder. The methods include administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an agent that inhibits JNK3 expression, or a therapeutically effective amount of an agent that inhibits JNK3 activity. Disorders that can be treated by these methods include cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, vascular diseases, and other disorders resulting from excessive angiogenesis. The therapeutic agent may be a compound, small molecule, peptide, antibody, antisense nucleic acid, ribozyme, or the like. Methods of identifying a candidate agent that modulates JNK3 expression are also provided.
