A root-watering system which is attachable to a valved water supply. The system includes a plastic tube with a threaded coupling for attachment to a spray nozzle. A stake connects to the opposite end of the tube and may be inserted into the soil using a foot pedal to bring a stream-directing slot into the vicinity of the plant's roots. A V-shaped barrier protects the slot from being packed with soil.

Root-watering system

An elevator/threaded shaft dispensing package for a solid stick-form product. The package has a refill cartridge designed to telescope into a reusable base. The base is tubular and has a threaded shaft axially oriented within it through a central aperture at its bottom where the shaft is connected to a hand wheel. The cartridge holds the product in a tubular body which preferably has a non-circular cross-section. A push plate is disposed in the bottom of the cartridge and the top of the cartridge preferably has a downwardly extending annular collar on its exterior. The package has a telescoping elevator system disposed within it which includes a platform which abuts against the push plate and an internally threaded neck below the platform. The internally threaded neck receives the threaded shaft in threaded telescoping relation. When the hand wheel is turned in a predetermined direction the elevator system advances towards the top, pushing the product in the cartridge up and out of the package so the consumer can have access. The package is able to reset the elevator to its lowermost position when it is in its uppermost position without manually rotating the hand wheels.

A basketball goal provided with a hoop from which is suspended a net, and a mounting assembly adapted normally to support the hoop on a backboard at a horizontal position. But when the hoop is subjected to a downward force by a player, the hoop is then momentarily deflected to absorb this force and thereby prevent damage to the goal and injury to the player. The assembly includes a mounting plate attached to the backboard and a hinge component secured to the front of the mounting plate, the component having a channel therein parallel to the plate and aligned at its midsection with a slot formed in the plate. Also included is a clevis formed by a rod shaped to define a pair of parallel legs that are joined to the hoop and are integral with inwardly-directed pin elements received in the channel, thereby pivoting the hoop on the hinge component, the pin elements merging with arms in abutting relation forming a cantilever crank that passes through the slot and projects from the rear of the mounting plate. Connected between the end of the crank and a point on the plate below the slot is a spring that acts to maintain the hoop is deflected by a downward force, the spring is then stretched and acts to return the hoop to its normal position.

Deflectable basketball goal

A glider having one or more soap bubble forming rings each discharging a trail of bubbles. A reservoir feeds soap solution to the uppermost section of the ring. The reservoir is set back of the trailing face of the ring and the sides of the reservoir diverge outwardly to prevent trapping of air which could impede the feeding from the reservoir. The ring may be used separately for manual bubble blowing or on other toys.

A child resistant box which is composed of a base, a lid and a hinge connecting the base and lid together. A latching mechanism is located on each of the two sides of the box for releasably retaining the lid to the base. The box can be moved between open, intermediate, and closed positions. The box also includes a means for biasing the lid from the intermediate position toward the closed position. To open the box the lid is compressed to the intermediate position. In this intermediate position, the latching mechanism may be disengaged by exerting manual pressure thereon toward the center of the box. Once pressure is exerted simultaneously on both latching mechanisms the lid is released and the biasing means moves the lid at least partially toward the open position. The operation of this box is particularly well-suited for the elderly. Although this child resistant box can house virtually anything, it is particularly well suited for housig a set of blister cards which include a plurality of medicaments to be taken at different times during a therapeutic regimen.

A dispensing package which automatically relieves residual pressure on a cream product and dispenses this product in incremental doses is disclosed. The package uses a feed screw to drive an elevator which impels the cream product in a unidirectional manner. The drive of the feed screw is superimposed with reciprocatory motion caused by internal cams which retract the elevator. By intermittently retracting the elevator a suitable distance, discrete amounts of the product are dispensed for each cycle and the residual pressure on the product is relieved, preventing it from weeping onto the applicating surface of the dispenser. The dispensing package is well suited to contain and dispense cream deodorants and antiperspirants.

Swivel-up type dispensing package

A dispensing package for cosmetic cream products which automatically and progressively indicates when the product has nearly been depleted by the user. The package includes a deformable fin cantilevered from the piston which contacts the underside of the wall on which applicating surface is formed and is thereby bent in the direction of an orifice in the applicating surface. Further advance of the piston causes the fin to progressively cross the orifice, becoming visible from the exterior. As the piston is further advanced towards the applicating surface, continued deformation of the fin causes it to advance fully across the orifice, thereby indicating to the user that the cream product is nearly depleted. The invention is well suited to dispensing packages which contain and dispense cream deodorants and antiperspirants.

A toy plane and launcher set in which the plane can be launched into flight by means of the launcher is provided with a parachute for permitting the plane to float to earth. Means are provided at the apex of the parachute to carry the parachute in a closed mode during flight of the plane with such means being disconnectable from the plane as the plane commences its fall toward earth under the force of gravity thereby permitting the parachute to open.

A high speed rotary table ball board game is provided for playing hockey and soccer-like games. The playing surface has a goal at each end. A player controlled movable goalie blocks each goal. The game-piece is driven by curved rotary arms located on each side of the field. One handle is used to rotate all of said arms simultaneously. Rotary motion is imparted to the arms by means of a pawl and ratchet wheel mechanism operated by a player controlled handle. The playing surface is surrounded by sidewalls and a clear plastic cover to keep the gamepiece confined to the playing surface. The playing surface may be hinged at the center for carrying and storage.

A game device is provided which has a high degree of sustained recreational and entertainment value. The game includes a housing fitted with a removable screen. The screen includes indicia which simulate a field of play, for instance a tennis court, hockey field, soccer field or the like. Screens with different fields of play may be interchangeably mounted on the housing. A boom is mounted in the housing for universal movement in a plan substantially parallel to the screen. A signal means is mounted in the universally movable end of the boom for projecting a signal on the screen simulating a play action game piece, for instance, a tennis ball or hockey puck in play on the simulated field. The signal end of the boom is reciprocable with the housing across the screen. Deflectors are movably mounted in the housing for buffeting the signal end of the boom across the screen at random verticals to the reciprocal horizontal. Each deflector is movable along a corresponding end line or goal of the field of play provided on the screen for thereby keeping the game piece in play in a manner corresponding, for instance, to tennis match play or to a hockey match, as observed on the screen. Each cross field buffet of the signal end of the boom by a respective deflector corresponds to a successful return of the game piece and each concomitant misregistration of a deflector and the signal end of the boom corresponds to a missed game piece which may, for instance, conclude a match play point or signify that a goal has been made.
