A medical device system may include transducers and a structure on which the transducers are located. The structure may include at least a first portion of each elongate member of a plurality of elongate members. Each respective set of a plurality of sets of one or more of the transducers may be located on a respective one of the plurality of elongate members. The structure may be selectively moveable between a delivery configuration in which the structure is sized to be percutaneously deliverable to a bodily cavity and a deployed configuration in which the structure is sized too large to be percutaneously deliverable to the bodily cavity. The second portion of each elongate member of the plurality of elongate members may be arranged in a helical configuration or a twisted, non-helical configuration including at least 360 degrees of rotation when the structure is in the delivery configuration.

A catheter sheath device may include an elongate member and a moveable member. The elongate member may include a first lumen, and the moveable member may include a second lumen. The moveable member may be physically coupled to a portion of the elongate member to permit relative movement therebetween. A first relative movement between the moveable member and a portion of the elongate member may cause the second lumen to be positioned at a first location that permits delivery of at least a portion of a catheter into the second lumen but not into the first lumen from the second lumen. A second relative movement between the moveable member and the portion of the elongate member may cause the second lumen to be positioned at a second location that permits delivery of the at least the portion of the catheter through both the second lumen and the first lumen.

Catheter sheath devices and methods of operating catheter sheath device

A medical device system may include a structure including a first elongate member, a line including a plurality of flexible members, and an actuator coupled to the line to selectively transmit force to at least the first elongate member. The structure may include a delivery configuration in which at least a portion of the structure is arranged to be percutaneously delivered to a bodily cavity. Respective portions of the flexible members may be intertwined together to form a braided portion of the line, and the line may include an unbraided portion secured at least to the first elongate member. The braided portion of the line may be located between the actuator and the first elongate member.

Catheter system

A catheter sheath device may include an elongate member and a moveable member. The elongate member may include a first lumen, and the moveable member may include a second lumen. The moveable member may be physically coupled to a portion of the elongate member to permit relative movement therebetween. A first relative movement between the moveable member and the portion of the elongate member may cause the second lumen to be positioned at a first location that permits delivery of at least a portion of a catheter into the second lumen but not into the first lumen from the second lumen. A second relative movement between the moveable member and the portion of the elongate member may cause the second lumen to be positioned at a second location that permits delivery of the at least the portion of the catheter through both the second lumen and the first lumen.

Systems, methods, and devices allow intravascular or percutaneous mapping, orientation or ablation, or combinations thereof in bodily cavities or lumens. A device includes a plurality of elongate members which are moveable between an unexpanded configuration, a bent or coiled stack configuration and an expanded or fanned configuration. The elongate members form a stack arrangement in the unexpanded configuration to fit through a catheter sheath, The elongate members follow respective arcuate or curvilinear paths as advanced from the sheath into the bent or coiled stack configuration, adopting volute, scroll or rho shapes, and may be nested. The elongated members are fanned or radially spaced circumferentially with respect to one another into the expanded or fanned configuration. Transducers carried by elongate members may sense various physiological characteristics of or proximate tissue, for instance temperature, and/or may apply energy to or proximate tissue, for example to perform ablation. The device is retractable.

A method of forming an image on recording media includes providing a rotatable imaging drum adapted for supporting the recording media; providing an imaging head adapted for forming the image on the supported recording media; providing an encoder adapted for detecting incremental rotational positions of the imaging drum; positioning the imaging drum at a non-incremental rotational position; detecting one or more points on an edge of the supported recording media while the imaging drum is positioned at the non-incremental rotational position; determining a position of each of the detected one or more points; and operating the imaging head to form the image on the supported recording media in alignment with at least the determined position of each of the detected one or more points.

Printing plate registration

The calibration of an imaging system is adjusted for geometric distortion of an image formed by a group of imaging channels on a media supported on a media support. The media support includes a plurality of individually spaced reference features disposed on a surface of the media support and a change in an expected position of at least one of the reference features is determined. Activation timing of the channels is adjusted in accordance with such changes. The imaging channels can be supported on a movable carriage and movement of the carriage can be adjusted in accordance with such changes.

Adjusting the calibration of an imaging system

A method and apparatus for determining the alignment of printing plate () mounted on an imaging drum (), and applying an image to a printing plate while maintaining registration and alignment between the image and a reference edge () of the printing plate include mounting the printing plate on a plate-making machine () and then determining the locations of at least two points on the reference edge. The locations of two or more points are used to determine a transformation that is applied to image data to yield transformed image data (). The transformed image data is used to image the printing plate. A method and apparatus for determining the locations of the points using backlighting avoids errors encountered in illuminating from the top.

Printing plate registration using a camera

A plate handling system provides for movement from storage of a variety of image-ready printing plates, organized in plate stacks with interleaf protective slipsheets. Each stack contains plates of a particular size, corresponding to the capabilities of an associated imaging system. Each plate stack is supported by a pallet, which facilitates easy loading and unloading into the plate handling system. A plate picker aligns with the desired plate and transports the appropriately sized plate to an imaging system. The corresponding slipsheet is transported to a storage area where it is stored with a flat orientation.

A method for aligning the leading edge of printing plate () to an axially disposed slot () in a cylindrical surface () of an imaging drum () comprising at least one printing plate clamp () having a clamp surface () disposed parallel to the slot, the method comprising straightening () the leading edge against the clamp surface and positioning () the leading edge to protrude over the slot by rotating the imaging drum under the plate. The straightening comprises resting () the leading edge of the plate on the cylindrical surface of the imaging drum and rotating the imaging drum about its cylindrical axis () to contact with the clamp surface a point along the leading edge of the plate and to rotate the plate until its leading edge is in alignment with the clamp surface.

Method for loading printing plate on imaging device

An imaging system is equipped with two or more exposure heads that are each able to image either a separate media sheet or a portion of a single media sheet loaded on a media carrier. The imaging time for any combination of media sheets is minimized by providing for the adjustment of the spacing between the dual exposure heads whenever the media configuration changes. In imaging a unitary image using two exposure heads to each image a sub-image, any discontinuity between the end of the first sub-image and the start of the next sub-image is reduced by changing the traversing speed of one of the exposure heads by a fractional amount.

Method and apparatus for imaging with multiple exposure heads

An apparatus for mounting and demounting a materials sheet onto and from a cylindrical surface of a drum () has clamps () pivotably arranged upon the sheet materials drum. The clamps have a first region () and a second region () either side of a pivot axis. The second region () clamps the materials sheet to the cylindrical surface () of the drum. A backbone () extends along the length of the drum and is removably attached to the drum. Push rods () movably arranged on the backbone are capable of being operated to push against the first region of the clamps to pivot the clamps to move the second region of the clamps. Any existing clasped materials sheet is thereby unclasped from the cylindrical surface.
