The communication system's data plane comprises a forwarding module, a service module, and an entry module, and the communication system's control plane comprises a management module. The entry module receives an IP packet from the peer device, the IP packet including a destination IP address associated with the mobile device. The entry module obtains, from the management module, a location value specifying the radio network node associated with the destination IP address. The entry module associates the location value with the IP packet, wherein the location value is related to a location tag name, indicating the radio network node that serves the mobile device, thereby obtaining a packet. The entry module sends the packet, via the forwarding module, towards the radio network node as indicated by the location value of the location tag name.

Methods and modules for managing packets in a software defined network

There is provided a data structure for re-configuration of an application hosted in a cloud computing environment. The data structure comprises a software template for use in a software scheme. The software template describes a flow of actions executable by a cloud management unit in the cloud computing environment for re-configuration of an application hosted by the management unit and executable by the management unit using the software scheme. The software template comprises software instructions comprising a first portion of software instructions non-editable by a programming interface unit of the hosted application. The software template allows for a second portion of software instructions to be added to the software template by the programming interface unit of the hosted application. Methods and devices for re-configuration using the data structure are also provided.

Re-configuration in cloud computing environments

Methods, an uplink module (), downlink module (), an entry module () and a management module () for managing packets in a communication system () based on Software Defined Networking are disclosed. A data plane of the communication system () comprises a forwarding module (), a service module () and the entry module () and a control plane of the communication system () comprises the management module (). The entry module () receives () an Internet Protocol 'IP' packet from the peer device (), wherein the IP packet includes a destination IP address associated with the mobile device (). According to the teachings herein, provisioning operations carried out via electronic processing in a communication network () benefit from the use of reordered workflows () having task orderings that are at least partly optimized with respect to task failure probabilities and/or resource-blocking penalties. The reordered workflows () are obtained by optimizing predefined provisioning workflows (). Each predefined workflow () comprises two or more tasks () ordered along one or more task execution paths () in a task tree (), according to a default task ordering that reflects any required inter-task dependencies but, in general, does not reflect any optimization in terms of failure penalties, resource blocking, etc. Among the several advantages provided by the teachings herein, carrying out provisioning operations in accordance with reordered workflows () wastes fewer compute cycles and reduces the needless blocking of network resources in the event of provisioning task failures.

A media muxer node () of a local network () is configured to time-shift a live media stream, by storing the stream on a local network storage () during a pause, and providing the stored and time-shifted stream to a local network-UE () after the pause. The pausing and the resuming of the media stream can be initiated from an external network-connected UE () outside the local network, or directly from the local network UE (). The system also comprises a media aggregating node () for authentication of the external network&#x2014;connected UE (), which are both connected to a virtual control node (). If a pause in the replay is discovered, the media muxer node () sees to the storage of the media in a local network storage () until the discovery of a restart command.
